Congratz 0260 I am looking at Stevens myself. I belive they have a school in Houston(I just started looking into trucking) I see Stevens "Student Driver" trucks all the time on the feeder of I45 running what looks like 1960 and cypresswood dr. A quick question for you. Do they ask for 3years tax returns? I saw a post that was dated that they asked for them. And there is a 10k per year requirement. After I got out of the Marines I took a year off because of my savings to take care of my newborn. Then have really only worked part-time. Just curious.
I look forward to your post. I just finished reading tleaheart's thread. For some reason I cant get enough of the post. Good luck to you! -
To be honest with you I don't know the answer to that. I had obtained my CDL before I got invited to Orientation. I'm sure the process is different for people looking to get thier CDL through Stevens. Call and ask a recruiter buddy. And thanks for the well wishes! Maybe we'll see eachother on the road.

Good Luck ! Hope it is a good experience

in my case since i was unemployed for some of the time i had to get them copies of what unemployment payments i rcvd. (you can get those of the texas workforce website.)
for the times that i was not working and did NOT draw unemployment i had to get them two, maybe three personal references stating what i was doing and that i was not working. (i'll have to check my notes.)
central refridg and ffe require pretty much the same thing. i ended up going with ffe, but they just fit me better, esp not having to pay back the schooling if i can survive a year. but everybody is different. -
Well, first day of orientation come and gone...check out my blog if you're interested. Thanks for the good luck wishes!

Sorry, where's the blog?

Disregard, I found it.
Very useful info, thanks. -
Hey 0260 I have subscribed to your blog on the forums. I am going to watch what you say over the next few days closely. The recruiter came to TDI today and it really sounded good. Better presentation then the other companies thus far. I can say I have a tough decision to make in the next week and a half. I am now considering Stevens as well as a flatbed company. I have done so much research and read so much stuff until my head hurts. Like I said I will be closely following your experience and making a decision tomorrow (Maybe) or by the end of this week. Have a great night and be safe!

I am really happy I chose Stevens. I like it so far. Everyone is going to feel differently about the whole process. Remember, if you have questions, ASK! Right now I'm waiting for laundry to dry at the motel since I could very well be going OTR for my 5 weeks tomorrow. Note to new Orientation 1 guys: BE PREPARED TO LEAVE. I procrastinated and now I'm up late getting my stuff ready. Gonna be a late one! I guess I'll write up a blog for today and yesterday...watch for it!
razzle dazzle Thanks this.
