Starting with no experience you will most likely start out in an 06' 07' Century. From what I hear guys are now starting out at 28 cpm I believe. If by schedule you mean home time, it pretty much depends on how long you want to stay out. I believe its 2 weeks minimum but if you'd like to be home more then that you can work out a schedule with your dbl. Miles all depends on how much you want to run and how the freight is in the area.
One thing for sure though, the general chat section is where we all like to ##### and moan. It helps keep our sanity. My latest ##### and moan was because I'm late for my scheduled home time. Mostly due to having to wait for 2 days in northern cali to get a load headed north. For 6 month, this is the first time I've been late on home time. I myself enjoy driving for schneider. -
freight is picking back up. Your schedule is up to you, you get one day off for each week out, if you are OTR they like you to stay out at least 2 weeks, I stay out anywhere from 3 to 5. I do know some guys that stay out less, it is up to your dbl.
I like driving for SNI, they have treated me well, even when I have screwed up royally(literally) -
Falconbowhunter check out www.schneiderjobs.com at top of page click company drivers then search and apply for jobs then on map state you live and it will show you whats to be had in your area.I drove for them for 6 months 14 on 7 off and thought it was great.I will be going back and this time I will be 7 on 7 off. I am not there now because at home dealing with health issue of father. I was working out of Charlotte,NC operating center and there are a lot of hometime options there.

I just applied for the OTR and a 14/7 job there. With the 14/7 do you have your own truck? Can you take any trucks home?
-
14/7 you will probably share a truck....they don't like trucks sitting more than 3 days without a driver in them, but depending on where you live you could keep it.
-
I'm close to the Charlotte terminal.

Jackofalltrades1977 if you are on the 14/7 program you will slip seat with 2 other drivers. 3 drivers and 2 trucks so someone is allways off and the other 2 are running. We changed on wed., the guy who was due to get off would be routed to the Charlotte operating center on wed. and the guy who was at home for a week would go to oc and get truck and go out for 2 weeks. The 3rd person would be staying out for another week and would get off the next week.
Jackofalltrades1977 Thanks this. -
You'll share 2 trucks, provided you have enough drivers in the POD.
My POD had one new, one old. One of the guys left, so the rotation is screwed. The new truck was mine. When I joined the POD, we kept it.
BUT due to the hosed rotation caused by a driver leaving the POD. I'm stuck in the POS truck. And the new guy has been in the good one for the past 3 months
God only knows what that truck looks like now. You could eat off the floor when I had it. -
What are the chances I could even get a regional spot fresh out of truck school with SNI? OTR is my last choice really. I've already applied for the Intermodal spot for Marion even though I knew I wouldnt' be considered and I applied for the Regional pick-your-schedule option. Will probably apply for more spots to see what happens.
duddie Thanks this.
