My husband is in driving school right now & roehl is one of his top choices, how are the miles if you are located in the florida panhandle? What's the hometime like? Is roehl a good company for a just starting out driver?

    first off,

    check with roehl,

verify they hire from your area.

then we could go from there.

    Cool,

    good company.

Some current drivers will assist you with any questions you have.

The fleet hiring in our area is the van national, northeast, 7/7, 7/4-7/3, 14/7 what are some pros/cons for these? I like the idea of the 7/4-7/3, does another driver take his truck/share a truck while he would be at home?

this was posted by "Clipping1" What ever you drivers do, stay away from Roehl, they are one of the worst companies to work for, all their promises are nothing but lies, watch your paychecks, they constantly try to jip you out of your pay. They treat their employees like crap, they tell everyone that they are replaceable, their turnover rate is like 100% and they will send you out and leave you hanging with no back haul, whatever you do stay away, a company like this should be taught a lesson and learn to value employees, they treat their drivers like garbage!!! On top of all that they put cameras in your trucks to watch you!! Does that sound wonderful or what??
Just want to pass along .......where your husband is a newbee he really research companies ....

Thanks, we are doing our research (well I am really) & just about every company is going to get some bad reviews, I do recall reading that clip on another thread & I understand that all company websites & recruiters are going to sugarcoat everything which is why I am on this forum to at least get some personal accounts on companies from personal experience

There is alot of those whiny "They expected me to actually WORK for money and DRIVE instead of hanging out at the truckstop",posts. There are alot of positive things about Roehl, McElroy and there are many good options for someone NORTH of I-10. Several students from my school went to Arnold and the one I met and saw and talked to said their training program, miles, pay and everything was real good. Of course he 1)Drives the truck responsibly, 2)Does his job properly, 3)Isn't a crybaby and 4) Is a responsible grownup who understands how to WORK for a living.
ALOT of posts on here are from frycooks, watercooler support systems and Walmart greeters who thought Trucking was driving a big car with a trailer and a paycheck. Best of luck to your husband. Tell him to go to a truckstop and talk to drivers when he starts to narrow it down. I just graduated from a 8 week school and have had friends and family in the industry for years.

Been with Roehl for a while, and although they can tick me off at times, overall they are one of the best companies out here, and are great for a new driver. If you do your job and don't break stuff you can do well here. Your dispatcher has a lot to do with how you do at this job, and mine keeps me going and treats me with repect. Good luck.

I agree. Roehl is a good company.

Ever since i got off of phase 3 my miles have gone up. I'm averaging 3000-3200 per week since I got my new FM. He always has a pre plan for me before I'm empty. So far I've gotten lucky and had a few more drop and hooks than normal.
