yeah I would hammer down more...but I am trying to up my MPG's as of late...I looked at my MPG history...you could definately tell there was something going wrong with my old truck cause the MPG's consitently fell month to month...it was an impossible task getting that old columbia to get above 6.5 MPG...not so much with this one...with hammer down and 44k in the box down I81 through VA and PA I averaged over 7 (using my own math)...so not bad...but I still like using the cruise....cause that way I have a little cushion for speed if I need it for something...
Is Roehl ever going to get any new equipment?

For me it depended on my foot... if i felt the need to stomp on it then i just held it down. Never really heard much till just before i left about my mpg...

The mpg goal is a joke anyway. I filled up in newberry SC, delivered in gp in rincon, then got a load to fort Smith Arkansas, then from there drove to Lincoln al. It said I had 2.93 MPG. What a crock. Ever since my MPG is above 7 in a crappy 640k plus miles truck it goes down and down. I like the cruise though when it works so I run it mainly out ln the open road. Just didn't make sense like 1200 miles plus most likely from fill up to fill up And the calculation was 2.93

yeah the Qualcomm and fuel computers don't work so well...you have to do your mileage using your own math....the QC messages anyway are not what roehl goes by at the end of the month...they figure the total amount of fuel you purchased and divide that by the total number of miles a month......or at least that is what I am told...
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
I was told the MPG message is usually screwy because your msg 32 comes in before the fuel system posts your purchase. When this happens, it uses your prior gallons purchased instead of the most recent one. I was told to wait at least 10 minutes before sending msg 32.

Who's still sitting there 10 minutes later?

What? Tree you don't pull up and then go in to take a shower blocking the fuel lane? Didn't you get the msg that all drivers are to do that now?Treefork Thanks this.

I've started sending it later when I'm done the road...LOL!

That works on other ummmmm problems.
Know what I mean driver -
i don't know how the other card services work, but i was told by comdata technical support that there may be as much as a 45 minute lag between the time you fuel and the time your transaction is submitted to comdata by the truck stop software.
this is because submitting fueling data costs the truck stop airtime charges, and so the truck stop may contract with comdata to batch a bunch of purchases together and then send them all at once. this is a service comdata offers, and it varies between truck stops.
in other words, you may fuel at 0600, but the truck stop software will wait to see whether anybody else fuels soon afterwards. if someone does, then your data is sent along with theirs. if nobody else buys any fuel, then the truck stop software may wait until 0645 before giving up and submitting your purchase.
so waiting 10 minutes to send in a msg 32 may not change anything.
btw, this is the reason why there sometimes used to be a discrepancy between the time you posted a fuel stop on your paper logs and the timestamp that comdata put on your transaction. if you fueled at 0600, but the comdata timestamp was 0645, you sometimes got a call from operations about log falsification. e-logs have fixed that.skyviper73 Thanks this.
