Nope. Not unless you live in the perfect spot or don't want any miles. Usually 3 to 4 weeks is possible no problem. They are an otr company and like there drivers to be out for a while as it makes there life easier.

I am happy here. Not allot of dry van or reefer company's where you can make ok money and be home most weekends. You find it allot more in flatbad work than in van.
But with flatbed you have allot of load and unload time. You also have allot of that with refrigerated freight. That is not as prevalent in dry van. We drop and hook at most of our shippers and at many of our receivers. So while you will have some sitting time it is not at docks as much as with other company's.

Their mileage rate is higher than most because we haul mostly short to med haul. Not allot of long stuff. I would say our average load is not much over 600 miles. In my area it is less than that allot of the time. But that is the higher paying freight. Long haul lanes do not pay as much per mile. So company's cannot pay as much.

Yeah guess I could lump some of the loads would be good exercise. Was at the one in Robert LA last night sat there for 6 1/2 hrs Guy at the desk said was because I had 13 different pos on the truck but only 7 of them were scheduled for apt time. So they unloaded those then the rest were considered a work in. Why unload just part of a truck I have no idea

At least you're getting the det pay. I sat at a smithfields in NC for 18 hrs because one of their machines broke down. When I put in for my det pay I was told they would pay me 1 day layover but could not pay the det because Smithfield refused to pay it. That was total BS. I told my DM that I would never go back to that stinking S#%? Hole and I haven't been ask to go back.
