The DOT could inspect any number of trucks or drivers in the U.S. and find many of the same violations.

XM 171 Open Road is a wealth of information. Far more reliable than the crap you hear on the CB. You should listen to the driver call-ins. It's a FACT that a driver said he witnessed a Mexican trucker jump the median and plowed into a rest area, pummeling a car. An elderly man was killed. It's a FACT that a fellow CFI driver said a Mexican driver hit his rig and than sped away, and when caught by the police his only defense was "No hablo ingles". I'm not going to assume they're lying nor am I going to assume this cross border program is a good thing. It's not one big conspiracy theory. There's a general concern among the truckers and the four-wheelers who know about what's going on. And Mexican truckers are a cheaper source of labor. If a company can hire someone to do a job for less expense, that company is going to do it. Hence, lost jobs. Mexican trucks may not be stealing interstate freight(yeah right), but what about those people who used to be tasked with bringing Mexican freight across the border? And according to NAFTA, Mexican trucks can now roll into Canada. There goes freight for Americans who go up there to bring it back down. P.S. Trucking Bozo may be controversial, but he's a very intelligent man.

    Hmmmmmmmmm

Anyone else wondering just WHAT WILL satisfy our Southern neighbors?

They're all FOR illegal immigration to the USA.
THEY can actually OWN property HERE.
Now, they want ALL of their Big trucks to get a free pass into this country.
What happened to proving they're worthy of driving Big trucks in OUR country?

If they don't like it here, they should realize WE don't like it THERE.
The way it WAS set up, neither of us needed to travel very far into either country. THAT seemed to work out fine.
    Why change?
    They're obviously not pleased.

Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile.

    Tip of the iceberg folks.
I fear we ain't seen NOTHIN' yet.

Consider this, if the Meh-Hee-Kan Big truck drivers stick together like WE don't, they have the potential to cripple shipments. Just refuse to cross the borders. Stay parked in protest.
If they do that, and Big Business suffers as a result, how will the situation be resolved? Will they then be able to run point to point within our borders to satisfy their demands?

Next thing we know, they'll be moving the borders up to around Colorado.

Can we see the writing on the wall?
    Is it in Spanish?

    Nope, for the most part, the mexican companies and drivers DON'T want to come here, anymore than WE want them to. Besides....I got "breaking news" for you;
MOST of the Mexican Carriers involved in cross-border trucking are either OWNED by American companies (Celedon, Schnieder, others), or are partners with American companies.

    That's OLD news Roadkill.
    Who's driving those Big trucks?
American Big truck drivers, or Mexicans?

If the Mexican Big truck drivers are ALREADY protesting, I'd tend to believe they DO, in fact, have a desire to enter this country, regardless of who OWNS the Big truck trucking company they drive for.

I have NO desire to operate a Big truck in Mexico, ergo I don't protest THEIR conditions.
If they had NO desire to operate their Big trucks HERE, why complain? Just DON'T do it.
The way it WAS set up, prevented that situation.
The "new improved" idea is ALREADY being protested?
    Imagine that.

How willing do y'all suppose Mexico is to address OUR concerns about running in Mexico?
And WE should bend over backwards for THEM?
Big truck truckin' is a two way street.

I would think the Mexicans would see this as a golden opportunity for them.
    Do they?
Or, are they just getting their feet in the door?

    Mexicans DON'T really like US.
    Do they even RESPECT us?
    Remember The Alamo?

The way I see it now, WE got --- THEY want (it back)..
    Follow the Money Trail.
    The one headin' South.
    Or down.
