Heartland Express is doing good

If out of Carlisle and not Columbus it is even harder to get home. Since the loads out of Columbus to Buffalo are normally covered by drivers out of that region. And not out of Carlisle.

I got higher miles when I was full regional and stayed out of the Northeast much of the time. The shortest lanes, with the longest times are in that area. But from the company's standpoint it is also the highest paying. Since they get the best rates in that region.

Also a couple months is not enough time to learn how Heartland runs. It will take that long for dispatch to learn how you run, and to get trust in you that you can do what needs to be done on tight loads. Many days I use my full 14 hours and drive more than 600 miles each day. But I am also out of one of our most productive terminals, with some of our best dispatchers.
Carlisle has had issues for the past few years with dispatch and planners. They just cannot keep them long. And the ones they get they train, but they are not very good at planning in advance.

Dont worry about it,some people think if they are getting screwed,then everyone else is getting screwed as well. I worked for Heartland,made killer money and never had one single problem out of any one there.They went above and beyond when i got sick in Utah,had my back when a driver tried to run me off the road (other driver blamed it one me) and always had their act together. I retired from trucking last year but if i ever do go back,it will be with them.

Agreed, just wish more people would realize this. Not everyone will make killer money and some won't make killer money anywhere they go, a lot of it depends on the person how they like to run. Heartland isn't based on having to run 3000+ miles every week to make a good living. you can see even a 2200 mile week at 48 cents grosses over $1000 a week. A 2000 mile week is over $900. but it is doable to get more miles than that if you run system and aren't home for 60 hours every weekend.

Chrome, how can you be dedicated? If you ask a recruiter,planner,fm they say they don't offer it. The other guy was asked to post his proof and he hasent been back. Care to prove your 48k?

Hello, recruiting department. I have yet to find a happy Heartland driver. They were especially not happy when it was 93 in Jacksonville and all five of them had their windows down. What a sad sight.

Oil, why does everyone with positive feedback about a company have to be a recruiter in your mind - have you read this thread? ChromeDome a recruiter? Carolina Thunder a recruiter? I don't think so. Again, if you don't work there then don't tear down the comments from those that do! I don't think there would be so many drivers who have been there for so long if it wasn't a good company. The standards are high to get hired at Heartland because they don't train and require experience, but the turnover is low.
