Wow....Glad I dont work out of that terminal!! $130 in 14 hours!! Sounds like a lot of wait time which we get paid for. Here in Charleston terminal its more like 10 to 12 hour nights. Some guys only work 8. My goal is to make over 200 a night. Since it slowed down a little its getting harder to acheive but the slow down is a nice break for the body.

Amen to that 10 hours will suit me fine and yes we do get paid for waiting but we submit our non productives and the pay what they want and here in Orlando some what they consider locals can take you over an hour or more to get to and most times you need to call to get loading numbers and gallons so if you do only locals and wait for dispatch and the rack it could easily add up to long hours with little pay.Let me just emphasize it wasn't always like this.

Veteran you are in a no win situation. Electronic logs are coming. Mike Rudisell your safety man? AFAIK Qualcoms are going to be in the trucks.
With 40 years you know if you squash a "cotton top" and you are over on your weight or hours you get to go to prison. The GPS in the hand held will bust your tailbone.
I was at Eagle for 7 1/2 months. -
Our safety man is Joe Oliver I am well aware of the ramifications for violating the law and have chosen to stay within the law I can always get another job. This is why the situation is so dire it seems he wants to get rid of the more experienced drivers that are not willing to break the law as he can pressure and confuse the less experience ones.I'm not a quitter so I will continue to do my job legally and follow company procedures until the day they tell me my services are no longer needed.

Hey guys I have an interview for eagle transport working out of the charlotte terminal. Does anyone have any recent info on that terminal and how it is run?
-
A friend works there, you start out working weekends with 2 days off during the week. Everybody there is easy to get along, doesn't sound anything like the terminal in Taft
-
Do you know about how the pay is there? Are the trips mainly local around charlotte or will you be able to gets some good miles?
-
It's payed by the load, pretty much all the gas companies are. They go up to Boone/Blowing rock and Sumter,SC, those are the farthest runs. Once you get fast at it, you can make more on shorter runs (not rich by any means)
