I sure don't understand the complaint about the shorter mile loads paying more cents per mile. Would he be happy if they all paid the same lower rate? Check a real freight bill, shorter is higher revenue per mile, usually, or at least hopefully.

If you were late, maybe you ought to be happy you get paid at all!

My advice would be to find a company that paid you for all of your time. Also, stay away from those that constantly advertise. They are doing it for many reasons. Not one of them are good for the driver

Well at least we have a refer driver willing to admit what a colossal time waster refer driving is. Not to mention the customers they go to who treat drivers worse then a stray dog in China.

Anytime your up to get paid extra on a trip the OTR companies throw out the hoops to jump through hoping you will miss a procedure so they don't have to pay.

Hundred miles at .39 is more then a hundred miles at .34 last time I checked. :biggrin_25524:

Was your last job a Obama economic adviser? :biggrin_255:

I am sure they would be happy to pay you .34 for all miles instead of paying you more per mile on shorter runs. :biggrin_25523:

the only time we have a sliding pay scale that depends on how long the run is to determine how much you make is in our O/O division. Which makes sense to me, make more for less miles.

I don't get it. What's so shady about a sliding scale?

Heck. Where's MY sliding scale? :biggrin_25522:

..I think we should be paid the same for all miles...if they say top pay is 45 cpm but you only get that on 100 mile or less runs then thats not top pay.Instead of looking at it like your getting more for driving less you should ask yourself why am I driving more for less...Yea thats what I want give me less money for more miles....1 mile run or 2000 mile run I want top pay for EVERY mile

Thats whats shady about sliding pay scale

O.K. i left marten almost 1 year ago and i was happy to get away from them because of how things were going. I was there 11.5 years and if you weren't there prior to 2006 then be careful what you say because you don't know everything that happened during that time period. Though i have no love for them i will give this to marten, when the sliding payscale went into effect they did not lower pay for the longer runs, they increased it for the shorter runs so stop crying about how your not getting top pay for the longer runs because yes you are, the pay on those 1500 mile or more loads would have been your base rate under the old system and so you would have recieved that pay per mile on the short runs as well. All you do is cry on here and you don't do your homework first which gives you 0 credability, just leave if it's not working out for you, i did and skibum did and we are much happier for it, believe me when i tell you that the sliding payscale was the least of my problems when i left.
