So, there I was, sitting on the side of I80 in Nebraska. Blue lights behind the truck and a short skinny state policeman comes storming up to my passenger door. His eyes barely cleared the window when he was standing on the running board, making his red skinny face kinda funny in a skinny oompa loompa kinda way.
As soon as the window went down, he started shouting at me "what the hell are you doing flipping me the bird... driver?"
Before I could say anything he says "get out of the truck with your license and registration"
"Yes, sir" was all I could eek out.

Flashback to a few weeks ago when we were talking about waving at oncoming Prime trucks. I really started feeling bad that I might miss waving to a truck while driving and figured out a way to wave at everyone... I found one of those round spring things with a suction cup for the window. Next, I got a piece of cardboard and cut out a "hand" that would wave back and forth from the breeze from the side window defroster.

Once out of the truck, the officer had his hand on his weapon, making me feel very uncomfortable.
"Give me that stuff, driver" he barked, his eyes bulging with anger.
I handed the registration and license to him. I tried to speak "sir, if I could explain"
"What the hell is there to explain about flipping me off?" he asked rather loudly, spittle flying from his bottom quivering lip.
"Officer, it was a waving hand." I explained.
"What?!?" he exclaimed? "are you calling me a liar, boy?"
"No sir, I am just telling you that I had a waving hand in the window" I told him.
"You better not be ############ me" he yelled at me.
"No, officer, if I could show you, you will understand" I told him....

Once he saw the hand fashioned of cardboard on the spring, he chuckled and asked why? I told him about Prime drivers waving and all, to include the guilt I had of not waving at everyone (especially flatbedders) and the website here, not forgetting anyone that spoke about this courtesy.....

"Well, driver, I am not going to ticket you this time for obstruction of drivers view. You had better not use this again, and I had better not see you flipping anyone the bird" He said as he walked to his squad car.

Yes, I couldn't resist......:biggrin_2559: I flipped him off as he walked away!!! Hope he didn't check his dash cam :biggrin_25513:

So, there I was..... walking out of the Big Spring truck stop with my coffee, prepared to start the days driving. As I looked up at the sky, the clouds looked ominously down at us. It looked like there would be rain in my drive today. As I pulled on the road, those clouds started to darken with the dawn breaking above them. I was looking forward to a little rinsing action on the truck. I started rolling east, watching the storm system in the distance. Mile after mile ran under my tires, one every minute, as I approached oh so slowly. Anticipation.........like waiting for the ketchup to come out of those old bottles. As I drove on, I was treated with one breathtaking view. The sun rose behind the clouds and storm system, revealing the most amazing aquablue water filled clouds hanging just above. It was as if God had scooped up crystal blue water from the Caribbean and placed it in the clouds just for our amusement. In the distance I could see the rain pouring down over some lucky farmers fields. Closer I approached, I could see the rain, thick and thin, hard and not so hard. As I entered the fray of the storm, water flowed from the cars and trucks passing me, washing my truck in rain water and road grit. Then it came, the truck wash from the heavens. I enjoyed those water droplet races on my hood, washing away the road grit, splashing my windshield, showing those little streaks from the wipers letting me know they are about done.
