I accepted a temp account for M&M Mars and I had two "accidents". Will this go on my DAC report. The first was when I hit a pole at 2 MPH when I mistakenly had the truck in gear after I let off the clutch instead of in neutral. Mind you I was stopped before I let off the clutch about two feet in front of a row of yellow poles.

The second one was when I pulled a trailer out a ran over a rrailer stabd. Be advised that they had me on the graveyard shift of 9PM to 9AM doing tard dog work. It was lighted by the poles, but where I ran over the stand it was not. But I take responsibility on both because it's my job the double check before securing the truck. I'm just wondering how this will affect my record if any. This all happened in the M&M Mars parking lot in Burr Ridge,IL.

I was headed to the restroom and parked in front on a row of yellow poles. I usually take it out of gear then release the clutch, set the brakes and turn the truck off. I guess I forgot a step lol!

If you're a temp working at M&M, you actually work for the temp agency. I doubt they even know about DAC. Did you get fired ?

Um, wouldn't you want to LEAVE it in gear when parked with the engine stopped? As in set the brakes, stop the engine, then release the clutch?

Maybe I've been doing it wrong, but I never leave my truck in gear. Always in neutral with breaks set. Not saying I'm right, just how I've always done it.:biggrin_255:

You are doing it wrong. When you shut off the truck you should ALWAYS leave your truck in gear.

To the OP, Both instances are dumb, and if you were written up on them they would be record if another employer called to check on you when you apply. Did they result in your discharge?
