Sdaniel, followed the letter to a "T". Got to Greensboro put truck in the shop. Tommy took good care of me. Sleep Inn for the weekend. Nice way to recharge my battery. I should be back on the road Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning. Yes, a loaner was offered, but I will hold out. Other than that the treatment has been more than I expected here. My first company would have left me to finde for myself. Volve 780's are coming in mid may, but don't know who will get them. I'm s sure the old timers first. I want one so bad, that's my dream truck.

Tommy in the shop will do any thing he can to make one right ! Hate you got stuck in
'out" over the weekend ! but the truck was ready to go to the doctor (it happens). -
Epes has started two new programs. First is a school reinbersment plan. Second
Is a .07 bonus on loaded miles on loads going in to the north east. As always
If I can help, pm me. Best of luck to everyone! -
I never got that memo.

What are we considering northeast? -
The pa or maryland line , thats on the loaded miles on any load delivered in pa,md. ,de,nj , ny,ct,ri , ma vt, nh, or me. so you pick up in fl and deliver in ma , you get .07 added to your base pay all the way up from fl. Hope that helps .
-
Now that's a load I'd love to run right off the bat. Or better yet, FL to ME.
*sings "money, money, mon-eh!"*
sdaniel Thanks this. -
had one of those weeks this week that pops had a couple weeks ago.....live on both ends, 250 here, 270 there, 330 was the longest i had all week.......with 12-16 hours sitting time between the firm appointments.....and nothing this week under 40k so not only were they short and in the mountains for the most part, they were also slow lol....ended up in atlanta rush hour twice....that's always fun.......the first atlanta load got there 30 minutes before appt time and my pickup number was one digit off what the guy had inside....so they won't load till i've got the right noumber......send in the message and wait. he calls and said they're on it.....3 hours later still waiting.....finally send a message to remind him i'm waiting and the clock is running and dm calls and asks why they aren't loading me shipper had the wrong number and were supposed to have started loading me 2 hours ago....well, no i haven't heard anything....walk back up to the gaurdhouse (at least he was cool and let me come on in and park while i waited there was nowhere to park on the street )......gaurd says they just got it figured out go back and someone will come out and get you......another hour goes by and finally they come out and put me in a door and load me and i'm out.....another epes there said be sure and check weight at the pilot close by they loaded him to 83,500 and bills said 44k....and he'd been there since 2pm waiting in the door for the reload and it was 7pm when i left and he's still there.......go in there to the pilot (at the 51 on 285) and what a dump.....and hard to manuever around.....first weigh and drives are 36,900.....with not much adjustment left because i'd already slid them a good ways to start with.....slide them all the way up and somebody blocking the way back in so i had to go down to the end and come back up through parking to get back to the scale and end up waiting 30 minutes while western express blocks the lane try try trying again to back into the hole.....finally get back up to the scale and 33,900 on the tandems and the best it's going to get so i ran with it.....the load friday coming in they said 42,400 on the bills but gross on the scale was 79,300 with half fuel....you think they put a little more than 42k in the box? not doubt of that......ran the log down under 15 minutes 4 out of the 5 days i was out this week......some weeks just end up being like that but, you get a week like that from time to time.....especially if you end up in certain areas.....so, ended the week on friday with only 1490 and #### near burned up my 70 to get it.....but, dispatch hooked me up when i got in with 880 miles going out early sunday for an 8am monday delivery, so i'll recover with a decent week on the paycheck because i'll almost for sure get at least one more in before cutoff on tuesday....and start the week out far enough out i'll get good miles this week no matter what, but leaving earlier than i like to.... so also running the risk of burning up the 70 before the weekend gets here too.....
it was a week of dumb ### 4 wheelers that's for sure....they all came out of the woodwork this week for some reason......worst one was coming up 68 at the 4 right before getting on 79......construction zone and it's down to one lane and 45mph....downhill....76,800lbs......stop sign at the on ramp and a dummy sitting there......gut tells me he's going to go but closer i get and he's still sitting there......already i'm slowing up and got the jake full on and down to about 30 and slowing one truck length from the on ramp entrance and he pulls out in front of me....and doesn't go.....even at 30 and slowing at that weight i had to stand on the brakes and still run off onto the left shoulder to avoid running him over.....and he's putting along at about 20mph flipping me off like it's my fault he almost died......was a week of dummies like that but that one was the worst for sure....
pretty uneventful two weeks other than not getting any miles this week and playing hurry up and wait at the shippers and wait for your appointment time on the other end.....Last edited: Mar 31, 2012

Do they ever get out to the NW?
-
Guess your leaving real early Sunday to get 880 miles in by Monday @8am. How fast/slow are those Epes trucks anyway?

From what I understand from talking to my recruiter, it'd be very rare. They stay east of the Mississippi.
