Thanks for the quick reply! That's what i had thought. Do they have any stated policies regarding hometime, or is it see what happens when you happen to get close to the house and how flexible your dispatcher happens to be?

If you get a load that finals before you go home you have up to seven business days to accept another load, which would be a backhaul in your case. Weekends & holidays don't count against your days off. If you go home while under a load you can take off however many days until you must leave to deliver on time.

We do not have assigned dispatchers. We have an outbound dispatch & backhaul dispatch with two guys in each that are the main contacts. They leave it up to you to determine your home time. Also, they have a No Rider policy.

Thanks for that clarification...now that sounds like an interesting concept. The question for the recruiter is what customers you deliver to near Springfield that would be close enough to deadhead home empty, allowing me to take a few more days off, albeit not necessarily on a weekend. I understand y'all do some to Walmart DC's but that still puts me anywhere from 112-160 miles from home. But it sounds like it might at least be worth putting in the application and seeing if they call. Thanks again.

Why a "No rider" policy. All they have to do is make you waive any recourse against them if there is a problem. Strange.:biggrin_2556:

One word reason..LIABILITY. Some companies are willing to deal with it, some aren't.

From what others who live in TN say, yes. Just need to let outbound dispatch know when you want to get home. There are weekly loads going to VA & NC. that should make it to get you at least through the house for a few days before making delivery.
