    I have been driving commercially for 15 years. I was wondering can u make 50k for the first year of driving a truck?

    extremely rare,youll have similar luck in trying to win the jackpot in the lottery.most people dont last a yr,of the ones that do last a yr likely make around 32k.

    with 15 years experience you should be making at least $.40 a mile. that should put you close to 50K a year with bonuses.

    easy. i got offered 40 a mile at 3 places with 3 years exp

    Thanks for the info, all. I drive for the city, with a class A. Was toying with the idea of driving a truck, but I think i'll stay put. Thanks.

    I drive for the government.. I am making over $50,000/year (closer to 80,000) with overtime... Trucker jobs that pay are out there, you just need to know where to look or get lucky.... I started with the City picking up garbage as a collections worker.. Then I moved back into the big trucks hauling the material the collections trucks bring to the transfer stations...

    Where are all these "right companies" at where the drivers make 100K per year?

    You know, those right companies that you just haven't found yet.
