1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Worked for Gordon and would noway do it again.. Less than poor communication on loads.. outragious directions then site driver for out of routes..on leases mileage decreases as end of contract approaches, then penalties for low miles such as leasor has to pay for tabs or insurances..Geuss who controls the miles.. No forces dispatch? wanta bet!! Either take that load or sit for 48 hours.. Forced to pay their shop rates for annual inspection, no they won't accept a credible dealers inspection.
READ..READ.. READ THAT CONTRACT, ESPECIALLY THE SMALL PRINT!!

    WE LOST EVERYTHING!!!

Would go to Swift first, at least you can be prepared for worst when you start.:biggrin_25513:

Like all Corp.Co.'s they have problems too! Not a driver friendly co.Forced dispatch, rte'ing and fueling by computer. And they send you on some goat trails, unsafe ones. Not much on talking(QuallCom.only)they allways seem to busy for you(the driver) Pay is ok,eqmt is getting better.I rate GTI 3 on a scale 1-10

Gordon is in my stompin grounds. I have watched them for 30yrs or so. Many old friends worked for them while I ran local. In the 80's Ranger paid better for me to lease on to, but Gordon always had a good reputation. Currently (last 8-10yrs) they are growing very quickly. Some drivers were frustrated with little things that seem to be "growing pains" but all in all it's a good place to work. Company drivers have been known to stay a long time. That tells me something good is happening. My father-in-law was a mechanic for a local transport. He also says good things about Gordon.

My ex and I teamed over there for a few months right before we split up (Interstate would not hire her so I quit them and we went to Gordon). As far as teams go, not sure I ever worked for a better company. Nice equipment, money was pretty good too. They haul some really heavy loads so you need to watch your p's and q's but over all a good experience. As some have noted, not a driver friendly company but who is? Show me the Benjamins and you can be as snooty as Nelly Olson, couldn't care less. When Linda Blair and me finally called it quits (oh yeah, her head would spin around and everything), I dropped off my truck and called IDC. Since I had only been gone a few months they handed me a set of keys as soon as I got there (which was darn fast), and down the road I went. It's too bad about the direction Interstate is going, they were the best company I ever worked for as a solo driver, there's not even a close second. But this is a Gordon thread. Going teams? Go Gordon, otherwise you might want to shop around a bit.

    MarkoGJT Thanks this.
