After Morris, IL it was down to Kankakee for a load headed to G. Mills in Joplin for 2200 Tues. Got to yard early on Tuesday and got a deep gash in trailer patched up, then sacked out for a few only to wake to a phone call from trainee that he failed pre-trip and then rolled a curb on his road test.

Ran the load solo into Joplin and got routed back to the yard as we were short empty trailers. Headed over to the pad in the AM and didn't see trainee, so I gave him a call. He wasn't on the list, ergo, not testing today. Line up already had someone running the local stuff so I sat all day.

Added a new item to my pre-trip inspections: drains for sleeper A/C compressor. Mine clogged and had a nice pool of water under the bunk!

Okay, this guy passes tomorrow or I'm telling FM he'd be better off with a more experienced trainer... like U2.

You getting the NE regional fleet bonus for those short runs?

 

You only get the NE reg. fleet bonus IF YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO THAT FLEET. And IP isn't.

 

I'm a lease op. Getting $3.97 per mile for that one from all sources. I also bought $531.91 in No. 2 diesel today, and spend around $2k on new drive tires as well. Told my FM I might be able to sell the old ones to NASCAR for use as "cheater slicks" - LOL!

The "scoreboard" will have about $3800 in gross revenue to the truck tomorrow afternoon with 4 days to go.
