Now that Reefer Season is here , does anyone have suggestions on profiable two way lanes. I know this is like asking for the "highly guarded Family Secret " but maybe there is enough freight for all and someone is willing to share??

I know apples will be paying good soon, but what to get and from where to get paid going out there , maybe flowers from florida, texas aor ???

Yep any help would be really appreciated.

I think what you are asking is too much. A lot of folks sharing good information here but if you are going to take food off someone else's table they may not be willing to share. Especially in open forum. You and a couple hundred people would have the information and the guy who worked for it gets pushed out.

Someone wise once told me you have to pay for your education. Either go to school and pay cash or apprentice and pay for it with your labor. Your looking for a handout. Spend sometime reading posts and getting to know peoples experience here. Develop and idea then ask a question and you will get some help. Lot of smart people here willing to help but not do it for you.

    Well said.

I have been watching this thread to see if anyone actually gave up anything. I was hoping not. To the original poster; It's nothing personal, it's just good business to be looking out for ourselves in these matters. If you can ask very specific questions, I/others may answer, but we aren't going to write you the instruction manual tiltled "how to get rich in trucking".

Your best bet, PK, is to try and hook up with brokers/and or customers in your area. For example, if you are in the midwest/corn belt, brokers in that area can not only get you good paying freight out (like dairy, or meat) but they may even be hooked up with freight coming back. That is where your hard work comes in; you need to find these brokers and make the inroads with them. Then thou shalt be rewarded.
A good source for broker info is from OOIDA, they have a broker rating list, to let you know which ones you should be dealing with and which you shouldn't wate your time calling.

We aren't stingy but we built our loads on our reputation not yours. If you have any reputation why are you asking for us to give up our contacts? If you have been in this business as a company driver it's called communication, making contacts so when you are an O/O you can do it on your own.

Sorry spent too many years building what I have and don't feel that I need to share with anyone. :biggrin_25512:

Work isn't that hard to find. Every customer you deliver to has employees. Those employees are generally local to that area. ASK THEM who knows what in their neighborhood. Everybody has a brother in law or nephew who works over at XYZ and they always need stuff moved.

My suggestion would be that if it is the start of reefer season, see if you can unload that reefer on someone else and buy a nice flatbed or stepdeck or something.
