I'm moving the truck to my lodging. I see nothing in the interpretation about 'desirable staging'. I'm relieved from duty from work and all responability for performing work. So, I'm off duty enroute to my lodging.

You are missing key words.....short distances....in the vicinity of

Dead heading 150 miles home is not a short distance.

Personal conveyance is just an exception to run around a local area to take care of personal business.

You are not relieved from work until you get home.

They tell you to dead head home is a direction.
In this case the empty truck and trailer are considered property.

Someone started another thread specifically on personal conveyance. I'd appreciate you all take your discussion there.

This thread is specifically for the leo's to tell their stories.

It really chaps me to see some axx in front of me at the check out line yacking on the phone instead of taking care of his business.

If I ever own a retail situation I will put up a poster that we do not serve folks that are on the phone at the time of transaction.
Good gawd what is wrong with people now days?

It is the moment I print it out. Think about it. A lot of insurance companies offer that "quote, buy, print" deal and you've got insurance. A fax machine works exactly the same way. If anything, I can print an exact copy out with any evidence that was electronically transmitted, where a fax machine leaves page numbers, time stamps, bad ink, and whatever else.

Sorry guys, I got off-topic with the personal conveyance thing. I will keep my comments on that new thread.

More stupid things next week. I am sure I will find some as soon as I open up the scale.

Had a guy, a couple of hundred pounds overweight, who thought he could correct his weight by letting 20 or 30 pounds of air out of each of his tires.

    He was serious.
