Well, I'm about to make my first delivery for Poly in the morning. My first week has been awesome so far. Coming out of orientation, I picked up a load through the house to get the rest of my gear. After spending a couple nights at the house I headed on up to Pittston Pa today to deliver in the AM. I already have a backhaul that has a 2 stop pickup. 1st stop in NJ and then another in Eastern Pa. The load is going back down to Jacksonville TX and can drop anytime by Monday morning. Since I got a reset at home, I will hammer down to TX and drop Saturday and then DH over to the plant in Grand Prairie to turn in my paperwork and pick up another load. 7 day trip. 2 nights at home, 3350 miles plus $60 stop pay. $1668 ain't a bad way to spend a week. All in all, a great first week at Poly!

Ok JD I've been reading this post and I can't say enough about how nice it is for you to share all this with us. I would like to know how the selection was for trucks in GP when you got hired? I've heard that there are some cascadia's and some volvo's but mostly columbia's and prostars, what did you have to choose from? Thanks again and be safe.

As a new hire one will probably get to chose from an older Columbia or Prostar. There are only two Cascadias in the fleet & they are assigned. I think there are four or five Volvos & the drivers were just upgraded to new Prostars so it is a possibility a new hire could get one of those.

I just went through truck selection last week. They had 5 trucks open and all 5 were older Columbias. There was a Volvo on the yard, but it was not offered to us.

I learned the hard way. Don't ask me why, but some generics are higher if you put it on your insurance. Walmart and many other big name pharmacies have a list of about 200 generics they sell for $4 cash. $10 for 3 month's. Make sure you ask before putting it on your insurance. There's a list on their website.

I got tired of Walmart and their long lines. After I lost my insurance my heart medicine cost $245 a month. I moved over to RiteAid where they sold the same medicine for $194 and no lines to wait in.

    jdrentzjr Thanks this.

After delivery in Bloomington,MN Friday afternnon I picked up a four stop mom & pop load going to PA. I'm currently at my first drop waiting for 0600 to roll around. So with the miles I ran over the weekend I ended up with 2600 miles for the week. With tomorrows miles and the miles for a backhaul to TX I estimate I'll end up with 4350 miles +/- by Thursday evening. Plus 6 extra stops = $2270 for the 10 days out. Once I return to Grand Prairie I'm going home for Easter weekend. So even though there is time left to make the weekly average a little better; I'm gonna pass.
