Like others have said, Alliance isn't for everyone. You need to be disciplined and determined...just like any successful business operator.

If you're just coming out of school and they offer to give you a lease purchase deal, don't be dumb. Say no. More than likely you don't know much about business if you are just learning trucking. You're not an owner operator. You're a hazard to your own financial well being.

I was wondering. If stevens had automatics or standard shift trucks?

Those other teams must be very disgruntled with Stevens to be saying such things. My husband and I run teams and we do have runs that require us running 24-48 hrs straight through, usually because it was a solo load that the driver dilly-dallied and almost 'burned'. Typically our runs allow a 4-6 hr break daily, more than that and we may as well be driving solo. After all, why drive team if you are wanting to take a 10+ hr break every day??? If you have a dispatcher, CSA, or someone else breathing down your neck, simply tell them that you would be glad to have a conference call with Safety, or that they are more than welcome to repower you.

Most these people that complain probably have gotten fired or let go do to several reasons. They come here to bash Stevens because they have nothing better to do I have been with them going on 4 years dont be so hurt you were let go there are many trucking jobs out there find another making up lies is not going to stop people from going they have a full orientation class every week. Thanks For Playing Along And Have A Nice Day.

I personally drove for a company out of SLC for 5 yrs as a driver/trainer and I know what its like to be treated like crap. For the last two years of my employment I was promised numerous times my hometime would be every two weeks. Well when they did get me home once a month if I was lucky I was usually called at home to rescue a load and promised extra money on top of that plus mileage. Then I had to fight my DM to get that extra money and had to hear him ##### at me cause i couldn't get a full 34hr restart. I finally had enough when they wouldn't get me home because my my mother was dying of cancer.
My DM kept telling me that oh well we will route you to Seatle then down thru SLC then you can go home when I was sitting at their yrds in SoCal. And I lived in Phoenix. That would have taken at least another week so I finally told my DM I quit come get your truck. I left it at their school/yards in SoCal. Well 3 days after I got home my mother passed and you know what 3 weeks after that I got a call from my former employer(a weekend DM) asking me if I would rescue a load here in Phoenix where I live. they still had it on their comp I was still employed. My DM hadn't told anyone. Now a year and half later I am going back out on the road with Stevens. I know they may have some issues as with any trucking company but because my former employer put a ding on my DAC Stevens is giving me a chance.
