As usual, several didn't pass their physicals. Enough that the ones from last weeks class get to move back to the Maverick motel from the Galloway.

One thing that I don't think gets mentioned on here much, if at all, is this. Maverick isn't for everybody. It's an extremely tough company to hire on with. Their screening process and eventual training is second to none. Any potential Maverick driver has to want to work here bad enough to fight for it. By that I mean be willing to jump through any hoops they throw up in front of you, even if it costs you money out of your own pocket and extra time. The rewards of being a Maverick are worth it..

That's it. I'm done. Well the transmission is done. Another driver is bob tailing from Memphis to rescue my load, & Davenport is sending a hook to rescue me. The mechanic that came out pulled over a dozen codes from the transmission. When Freightliner of Dallas said that there wasn't any only a few days ago. This isn't the first automatic that has gone belly up on me.

maverick should get away from those automatics...its gonna cost them more in the long run....a automatic tranny has no buisness in a semi but...thats my opinion.....they sould have a 13 speed in them at least

Actually the last time I was in the NLR shop I was asking how Mavericks experience has been with them and they say now that the transmissions have been out for so many years that most of the kinks have been worked out. They actually spend less on tranny repairs now compared to when they ran all manual. Now they also say though that when a problem tranny shows up they are a bigger pain in the bum to get fixed. So I guess its like most mechanical things, most run great but some just wont work well no matter what.

One more full day of Load Securement training. Now I know why almost all drivers hate tarping. This whole week seems like a blur with the amount of information and hard work. I guess the real training will come when I'm by myself with my notes. Luckily, because several of my fellow former Sand drivers were flat bedders at Maverick first, I have friends I can call when I have questions. I think I'd rather call one of them before calling the Oh ##### line.

I would rather tarp then pull a covered wagon. I enjoy it!
