This is a 2 part question. How are the stereos in the trucks? is there a way to hook anything up to them like an mp3 player or my phone so i can listen to iheartradio? any kind of jacks on them? how is the sound?
Second part of question. Are you allowed to replace the radio head unit and or speakers? I have installed many audio units in cars over the years so if needed i could do it myself. I always keep the old stuff so i can put it back to stock before getting rid of the vehicle so i was wondering if that would be a possibility.
Only reason i am asking is because i really like listening to music and the occasional talk radio like clark howard. And i figure since i will be driving for 11 hours a day it would be nice to be able to listen to what i want.
another weird question

is this company truck, if so no you cannot replace anything, o/o yes you can replace anything, and last most new sterio's have a 1/4 inch jack on the front too plug your device's in
-
The factory radios had the auxillary plug in them for a mp3 player or whatever you wanted to plug into it. If the radio went out and got replaced it just depends on what terminal your at and what kind of radio they put in it.

okay cool thanks

I have not seen anyone put there own head unit in. As Spanky said all have Aux jacks. All have 4 speaker systems,2 cab, 2 bunk. I think the sound is very good, of course I am an old guy. It seems the majority are going with a satellite provider, XM Sirius.

Good to see you have you priorities worked out.///
slim shady and Guitar Man Thank this. -
okay that is all i need then is a jack to plug something in. and King Q it is a whole lot better than trying to find local stations every 30 minutes. You gotta think about it this way: you are driving most of the day so you cant do anything other than pay attention to the road and listen to music. might as well enjoy the music you are listening to
slim shady Thanks this. -
One thing I regret is not learning another language on those tape tutorials the had.
The again the trucks I drove back then were to noisy to listen to anything. -
back when i drove i listen too lot of audio books thru the wind thru the doors
-
yeah unfortunately i can not learn languages that way. I have rosetta stone here at home and i really like how it works. I cant just listen and repeat. I need to do things with the language. Spanish would be a good one for anyone in trucking to learn.
