I use the business side of my degree 10X more than the technical side.

I'm debating on whether or not to put myself through a trucking school here in Fresno. There is one that is reasonably priced and Schneider, Werner and Swift accept this school.

Or i can try applying at Swift, Central, and prime to see if I can just go through their school, i'm probably going to start applying right now, even though i can't start until May 20th

Congratulations! FWIW, I believe you are taking this in the right steps. You will never regret having your degree, even if you never use it! Just having been in school long enough to get a degree, gives you a bit of a leg up on folks who went to work right after high school and had no further schooling.

Shoot, if nothing else, you will at least know more of the questions on Jeopardy than some folks!:biggrin_25525:

Seriously, you can never have too much education, as long as you have the common sense to go with it. I think we all know a few folks who are "professional students," that couldn't empty a boot, even with instructions.

I have a bachelors in Computer Science as well as several different IT certifications and here I am hauling fuel. I love the road and love what I do. I can't see myself going back into an office and sitting at a desk all day. My desk is the steering wheel now. Not once have I regretted the decision to get into trucking.

Yeah I'm just trying to get through these last 4 classes and I'm good to go, applied to central and Prime today. I called prime after turning in my app and talked to a recruiter, if everything goes good I can go to orientation on may 29th

The most usefull thing I have learned over a fairly long, various, bizarre and interesting life. Your heart, what you want, dream, love, is what you should follow. Be a driver, you can be a cop later. or you can drive trains, be a hobo, a circus clown, oilfield roughneck, what ever the hell you want. Congratulations on graduating!!! But more importantly, congratulations on NOT listening to people telling you what you should do with YOUR life! Be a trucker, just remember to the best trucker you can be.
    Live long, be happy,
    b
