Monday Sage Report: Nothing new to report today; watched a couple videos and powerpoints, took a couple quizzes, worked on the pre-trip for a while. I take that back.. I did learn a couple new things this morning when we were going over trouble-shooting. I'm not extremely mechanically-minded (just ask my wife!), so some of the engine trouble-shooting was very informative!
I haven't actually driven with Marshall yet -- he was just there to watch me and another guy back up.
I do have to say that Floyd was great to drive with. He'd give me instruction when I needed it and we'd just shoot the bull if I didn't -- which helped me stay pretty relaxed.
I was hopin winter was officially gone!! I enjoyed last week wayyy too much apparently!

Oh, the short bus is easy to drive in that weather...its the train up and over Sherman, Elk Mountain passes that is fun. Especially when coming back empty. The wind is kicking over 50 miles an hour and pushing that pup all over the place. Had a minivan that was going to pass me one day until he saw my pup slide to the left about 3 feet. Wind and ice do not mix well, the only thing you can do is slow down and try to keep it straight and at that point where you are still pulling and not needing to use brakes at all. Loaded you don't have a choice about using brakes, but empty it is so light that you very rarely have to.

leadfoot80 Thanks this.

Have the same loads you did last night...may be a little late if I run both of my last two. Grandpa is in front of me, and just pulled into bay 4 to load the train for Wamsutter...so this is a "Rack Delay" posting. Looks like they are working on bay 2 and that's why he isn't over there.
Started snowing when I got down here this morning, but it's mostly melting, but the rain/water is slowing traffic. And the truck is not clean anymore LOL. -
LOL Yeah I ran into rain last night down there but traffic was light so it didn't slow me up any. Grandpa needs to hurry his arse up and get going because we don't like being late. lol I would hate to have to take that beer back that I offered you for the referral bonus. LOL! -
Hey Leadfoot80 how goes it? Any exciting adventures yesterday and today? Please do share!

I guess I'm not real sure what to say about the rest of today. I'm a little concerned with something that happened -- I disagree with it, but not sure what to do about it. That's all I really feel comfortable saying about it right now -- don't want to get anyone in any trouble. Jynxx, Hanzerik, I might contact yall at some point to compare with your experiences, if you guys don't mind.
If you are considering Sage, please, PLEASE do not take this as a "don't go here" post. I VERY highly recommend them and they have an EXCELLENT training program. This is a very minor thing and if/when it gets sorted out I will post the results and more details.
Please see my followup post. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...res-with-sage-cheyenne-wy-15.html#post2528025Last edited by a moderator: Apr 7, 2012
