I have a couple more questions.
Is there a way to plug in a fridge in the tractors, or will I have to use a 12v deal? Also, about getting my own CB radio... do they need to install it, or can I? Hopefully it's pre-wired and simple to do?

If you have a cigerette lighter plug in on that fridge...you're good...
CB hook up is easy too....black on black and red on red....plug the coax in...Female Driver Thanks this. -
Drop and hook they say..... 2 hours and counting. Waiting outside the gate for a live unload.
red S-10 Thanks this. -
I'm starting with schneider monday, but maybe the drivers that already works here can back me up. I came from swift so I figure schneider has pretty much the same rules. It will be a 12v deal and cb's outlets have a red and black wire nuts on top of the dash for easy cb hook up. But from my experience and from what I've read from most of your larger companies only allow cig. lighter plug in inverters.Female Driver Thanks this.

I don't see how you could use anything other than a cig lighter plug in inverter unless you do some hard wiring work, which I'm sure is a big no no. One of the newer Cascadia's burned to a crisp recently, the driver apparently had an unauthorized inverter that shorted out. Probably answers your question, although I'm not entirely sure. Definitely a question to ask the maintenance department.red S-10 Thanks this.

thats what I was saying. anything other than a plug in, will get you in trouble. heard of way too many trucks that was catching on fire due to faulty wiring

4 hours and counting... Drop and hook
1:15 left on my 14 in the middle of BFE.
Finally in dock though. -
Some companies have APU's. The inverters are under the bunk hard wired in. You have 120 volts any time you need it. Alot of plug ins too. Whenever the batteries reach a certain discharge, the APU kicks in and recharges. The inverter is always on when truck is running. A little light on dash that says 120 volts.red S-10 Thanks this.

Sni to cheap to go that route.

Gotta love it when you have a 2 hour live unload appointment at 10:00 and it just so happens to be at the same time as the dock workers lunch...
