here ringfeder couplings are so spread that even some tractors have it

    This is interesting to me.
I cant import them as we are not allowed to import used trucks.
All our neighboring countries import both American and EU trucks.
I cant say I have seen any over here but I don't think unless one knew you would not notice.

Mammoth are new trucks made with used parts (kinda recycling).

I've been surprized when I saw Volvo F12 cab on new glyder chassis. I'm not sure, but Freightliner may sell chassis and engine w/o cab. New, as glider kit

here some trucks have even 2 ringfeder trailer hooks

sorry for image quality but take closer look at hook behind bumper ....

upper hook is for normal drawbar trailers and it is at back of chassis(it have 40mm pin)....hook below is for central-axle trailers ( both axles are at middle of trailer) usually those trailers are with high volume and hook is just behind truck axles to keep trailer as closest as possible to truck (they have 50mm pin)

    this are most common combination

however it is sometimes possible to find 50mm hook at back on chassis and on upper position ( for example in construction segment and on beverage transport)

i have seen 40mm hook on lower position and close to axles only twice

there are even convertors if you have to pull both type of trailers

this is converter for 50mm trailer and 40mm hook

50mm hook to 40mm trailer is easier you just need ring

My boss runs a cali truck and trailer for hay out here on the east coast for hay and straw. The customers seem to love it as there arent many out here.

Here in the US we also have the ringfeder trailer hooks, we call it fish mouth trailer hooks, I had one on my KW, it came from Michigan, pulling a five axle dump trailer, the truck is a four axle dump.
