Well a few weeks of reading the forums while job searching I have learned plenty..

First was all training companies suck..Well to the 4 or 5 people who dropped or flopped..

By dedicating a year to a truck, driving and learning I'm gonna be dead broke and worn out..well thanks to our current president I have 3 years practice and have excelled at it without complaining..ya I am quitting a decent job to do this..

At .29 cpm if I drive 59 mph for 10 minutes I can buy a Venti Starbucks iced coffee..we all have our habits..

and last there are a bunch of good people in the trucking industry and I am happy to be part of it..Thanks all..

    dave26027 and Onetruckpony Thank this.

I don't know how accurate the statement -- but, I don't understand people who say "I'
m leaving a good career to go trucking"(especially in this economy)!

I wish you well in finding a Starpuke's that has truck parking.

at 29¢ per mile, you'll be able to buy a McDonalds coffee at any size, for $1.00

A decent job, is still a decent job. You really think trucking is a piece of cake??

Maybe you ought to apply for a "leave of absence" from your current employer, I have a sneaky suspicion you will go back.

And you seriously think that trucking "has a bunch of good people"??

who fed you that line of crap???

SO you only manage a fleet, and you think that this industry is still good to get into??

I want whatever stuff you are smoking.

Go manage a "fleet" at Penske or Ryder, or Ruan. You'll make MORE MONEY, and have REGULAR hours, and would actually be able to park your personal vehicle at a Starpukes.

Really..I truely enjoy all the great advice. .problem being You assume lots..I wanna drive..been planning the move for a couple of years..personal thing it's what I want to do..debt free..not some struggling kid leaving the wife and kiddies..it's a choice.

Now with all your insight and knowledge explain why if its such a horrible profession your still here?

Cuz my retirement isn't too far away, and I wish NOT to learn anything new and start all over again.

I pity those that wish to get into this industry, when they already have a "decent" job. It's gonnabe the biggest mistake people like this make.
