i think they're self insured as far as collisions go. i believe it's federally mandated that any carrier hauling freight has to carry coverage on the freight. also, i was in reserve a couple years ago and one of the trainers was telling a story about how when hurricanes come through they have to move all the trailers to safety, but i guess once some bean counter suggested that they could just leave them there because insurance would cover the losses, but somebody overruled him saying basically, 'dude we need those trailers.'

so i take it then , noboby was sleeping in those trucks ,as too take there resarts in there at the yard, and if not, i think that be strange too have that many trucks in ther yard and not have someone from outa state take there break there,and even if there in motel, there goes your load and truck, it left with out you

I would guess it would have been a lot worse if it would of happened at 2am instead of 2pm.
If I was there on my break, at 2pm, and knew the weather was that bad, I would be keeping my eye on it. 2am? not so much.Everett Thanks this.
