    i think its a 2012 freightliner cascadia
mic can confirm this ,but im pretty sure the cascadias do not have auto
start. they will idle to recharge batterys if its either below 15 degrees or above 80 degrees.

some prostars have the auto start feature if they are equiped with the electric powered apu system.

Cascadias do not have auto start....but I have had decent life out of my APU batteries...mind you I do not have a microwave or a boatload of electronic goodies other than my TV and computer (and obvously sat radio and GPS).... but they will NOT idle above 80 degrees (found that out in Florida) but I do know how to get them to idle you just have to get the engine to about 1000 RPM by wedging the fuel pedal...(I did it for 2 days when I was in the south...and now I am getting the truck fixed)....My Cascadia is a 2013

    classic_150 and childerscarl1 Thank this.

my prostar with the electric apu is currently blowing warm air out of the sleeper berth vents way behind me, but is blowing ice cold air out of the dashboard vents onto my legs as i sit in the driver's seat.

the electric heater core is so far away from the dashboard that by the time the warm air gets up to the front, it's cold. or maybe the dash air is never heated at all. dunno. i cover the dashboard vents with duct tape to keep the heater from freezing my knees.

lots of duct tape here and there in this truck.

what I liked for the winter in the cascadias was that the ESPAR heater worked better than the webasto's for heating...a plus was that the ESPAR heated the coolent so If I needed to defrost or defog windows when it was cold I could just turn the truck to ACC and the defroster would blow HEAT rightaway...

Is it possible that the front ac/heat controls need to be set, temp control to hot and from fresh air to recirculate. dunno but see if that helps.

Well, I'm in marshfield. My new truck turns out to be a 2007 Columbia. Oh well, I was hoping for a change, even a prostar lol. Ill take it and be happy with it. Hopefully its in better shape than mine, and if it has an apu that'd be awesome.

    So i was kinda bummed I wasn't getting a 2012. At first....

Turns out I'm getting a 2007 Columbia, condo, with an apu, Detroit 60 series, and only 160,000miles on the odometer.

I'm very happy lol. I'm kinda glad its not a brand new truck, that way I don't have to deal with def and all the emissions headaches.
