    truck was running to hot and fan was not working. was looking for a fail safe to turn fan on hoping it was electrical. unhooked air line to fan to turn it on just to finish load. ended up both the fan clutch and hub was the reason fan wasn't working. the reason i started the thread that night was i was told by volvo tech that the fans on a D16 could not be turned on by pulling air away and was looking for other ways to do so. It does work to pull air away if clutch is good. thanks
