The last comment you made hit the nail on the head for most companies out here. That is a good way to put it........fragmented, dysfunctional, be prepared to overlook some things. True dat.
Also, does PF have housing in Williston or just Watford?

LightsOutND might answer dat question on housing locations if he so chooses
Guessing they would have more than just Watford City as MBI also probably would -
They have housing in minot, its more expensive because the price of land has gone up so much over there, they are building 2 more buildings here in watford city to make a total of 6 for the whole complex, whiting has leased one of them, and Chris who goes by the name cobra7476 told me the other day that they are soon to finish some apts in williston.
The company i came to ac22 is not the company i thought it was... I am trying to hang on and reserve judgement...we'll see what it looks like after the fallout. And after i get released and am used to being on my own. Its sort of reassurring to hear its not just this company tho.MoneyCat and pathfinder1361 Thank this. -
Thanks for the apartment info.
I know people at PF and they seem to be having the most growing pains as they have grown more than most in the area. But many are having similar issues. I just hope the HR people let you know of some of those details before you signed on. Nothing worse than a recruiter making it all bunny rabbits and rainbows and then you get hired on and its pit bulls and rain clouds. Now that you are here with boots on the ground I'm sure you can find other work with PF on your resume. Good luck.twentyninetimes Thanks this. -
How long does your training last? I have heard it is one week classroom and one week driving with trainer, not sure if this is accurate though.
Congrats on finishing training.......your not thinking of changing companys are you? My understanding is that Power Fuels is one of the best to work for......but then that was two years ago when things were not so crazy! -
The classroom time is a week. Then driving with a trainer is about a week and a half altho i elected to stay out longer because my training was getting so disrupted.
Nope i am not leaving. I told myself that i had to stay 6 months before i could make any kind of decision about leaving because i know myself. At first i don't like it but then overtime i get used to it. Unless i find that the bad outweighs the good.NDBADLANDS Thanks this. -
Thanks for info...... good to hear your not leaving, you've come this far you want to get some seat time now, before winter. I am also a new female driver and will soon have my two years in.......seems like two weeks some days but the good, even the so-so days outweigh the bad.
I enjoy reading your posts and all the best to you. I really admire what your doing and know it must not be easy......any of it.
I want to apply with PF, I have had an application for over a year, just can't quite make myself fill it out. I now have two winter driving seasons under my belt, and some seat time and miles.......so maybe soon.
Keep posting......nice to have your female input about working the oil fields.
You average about four loads a shift?twentyninetimes Thanks this. -
Well it sorta depends. Over on the production side alot of the men work faster because they get paid by the barrel. We did get 4 and one time even 5, i think, but i was with speedy gonzales
who barely stood still long enough to train me. After i got him to slow down tho he turned out to be a great trainer. Over on the fresh water side you get paid by the hour and sometimes have to drive long distances. The other day we only got 3 and that was pushing it. Got back to the yard at 6:15 pm and you don't really want to make a habit of that since it cuts into the night drivers time.
One of the bright things is that i have a beautiful apartment. I love it. I chose the one bedroom on the third floor and i have a view of the hills. I feel safe here and i have everything i need. Its brand new and they used nice colors with an open floor space. There is a washer/dryer, a built in microwave and a garage. I so much appreciate it that i went and got a thank you card that i am going to send to the owner.
Even tho i have to climb 2 flights of stairs i did that on purpose to get myself back onto some kind of shape after being otr. I have put on about 45lbs.
I don;t want to discourage you. Ask me what i think again when some more time passes.NDBADLANDS Thanks this. -
Lol, I drive linehaul, pay by the load.....I know Mr. speedy gonzales...too funny. A safe haven........apt. sounds almost too good to be true, so happy for you. That is a major deal breaker for me, I will not room, even with another female. I know the area you are working, I haved lived in ND my whole life. I would like to be in the Dickinson area........I know PF is there just not sure if more demand for drivers is more North. I will actually go anywhere in the state but my own place is a must.
Oh, do you need to have haz-mat? I have tanker and doubles but not haz-mat. -
My post must have been confusing.... I was training with speedy in the truck, but i am living in the apt by myself. I live alone. You don't have to room with anyone. I think they have apts in dickinson... I was thinking of relocating there. It might be better in another yard away from headquarters.
I am not totally clear about the endorsements. I don't think you need hazmat but the hiring lady kept asking me if I had all three. I did get all three just so i had them.
