I wonder if there is any company out there who does not treat newbie drivers like a team driver? I just got my CDL and want to join a company in which I do not have to drive 11 hours in 24 hours as I m new and not used to driving that much.

well most places will want you to run as much of your available 11 hours as possible as that is the only way you and them will make any money.

JBS Carriers out of Greeley, CO. does a good job of running their trainees as just that, trainees. The trainer is required to be in the passenger seat training the trainee. They do not run as a team. With any OTR company your goal it to get the load delivered in a timely manner which may be driving 6 hours one day and 11 hours the next. That is the nature of the business we are in. Good luck and congrats with getting your CDL.

You didn't list your location, so it's hard to make suggestions for you. McElroy doesn't run as team while training.

Mansur in Janesville, WI puts you on the local trucks during orientation. Run mainly WI and IL with lots of time running around in the Chicagoland area. Home every evening in your motel room. Trainer is in the passenger seat when going down the road, out training you on load securement when loading and unloading.
