I use one of the lunch box cooker all the time. I buy my pans at wal-mart when they have them, so stock up. I put water to cover the bottum of the cooker for even hot and it will stem also. I cook chicken, fish and alot of rice pack.

Yup, those cookers are the best!
I used to purchase the pans at Walmart too, but found it much cheaper to buy HEAVY DUTY aluminum foil and 'form' a pan out of a long sheet that's doubled over.

    Thanks for the comeback!

Here is an easy filling good meal for any trucker try 1 can of chili a bag of (plain tortilla chips) and a small bag of pre chopped lettuce a small tomato or salsa is better and some cheddar cheese take a paper plate or a bowl if you have one warm the chili (no beans of coarse). Warmed in the (microwave at the truck stop or yours also hot lunch box)a layer of chips some lettuce the chopped tomato and shredded cheddar cheese makes a great taco salad. Or you buy a can of chili and some of those single size rice bowls that you can get at wally world warm them in a microwave and pour chili over rice. 2 good filling easy meals.

When I first started out I got a lunchbox oven, the one with the adjustable temp.
I used it fairly often, but not as much as I had hoped.

It fried the 12V plugs, no matter the temp it was set to. I would have to cook in stages, turning it off every 20 minutes or so to let the plug cool.
It also tended to blow fuses.

It was worse in some trucks than others.

I finally got tired of that and got the cheaper Barton oven, the one that takes the tins.

    Best move I ever made.
Not only does it not overheat the plugs, I can finally cook real baked potatoes!! :biggrin_25514:

    Copy that, Moose!
I've had my can't-set-the-temp oven now for over 2 years and it's still tickin' like a good Timex.

try this in the lunchbox....... season a piece of meat, chicken breast, pork chop, steak. place it in an alunimum pan coated with cooking spray. spread on a little bbq sauce or steak sauce. cover with a can of pork and beans. cover with aluminum foil, poke a couple of vent holes in it. drive on down the road about 1 1/2 hrs or til you can smell it. dinner is done.

I get those 'oven bags' (come 5 in a box) and cook my veggies in them alongside the main meal in the lunchbox oven. Canned veggies, mostly.
Did you know that there is now seasoned canned cabbage?
I saw it at Walmart under the "Glory" label.

I have a crock pot and two of those skillits that plug into the cigarette lighters, and two pots that plug into the cigarette lighters.

    1. Boil noodles, make sauce, fry hamburger.

    2. Fry baccon, fry eggs, fry buttered bread to make toast.

    3. Crockpot a 2# roast and sliced veggies.

    4. Fry up some grilled cheese sandwiches, and cook tomato soup (add milk).

And many other yummy ideas if wanted! Just let ne know!
