Exactly. No matter the amount per mile, more miles equals more money. Period. Not all of us have a problem with 3000+ miles.

No, 2500+.
UPS Freight.
I do a mixture of P&D and linehaul. When I'm on linehaul all week, I never get under 2500 miles. Plus hourly pay ($25.25/hr) for all time spent fueling, logging, hooking and breaking sets......Or doing anything that is not actually driving down the road. -
so you get one OR the other, but not both at the same time.
-
Right. The hourly pay is for any time the wheels aren't moving besides breaks. We get paid for breakdown and delays also on hourly.

I understand that every driver would love to make more cpm and drive less but I have to agree 3000 miles for a solo driver a week is not to bad plus the benefit of seeing the country and getting paid for it is awesome. As a wife of truck driver yeah it sucks that you guys are gone all the time. Personally I know my husband loves to drive always has and I really think always will. Would I like for him to be home more and make the same money yes who wouldn't but as I became use to this all I can say its the nature of the beast. Without you guys hauling this country would shut down so yeah more money would be great but I still think they'd be running because as an american we need you guys to. Thank you to all the men and women who roll on down for us.
Glimmer and Wiseguywireless Thank this. -
Who in their right mind is going to do 3000 miles in a week and only gross $1000 ??? That's insane !!!
If I knock out 3000 miles the gross pay better be many times that. -
Old timers forget that there are many drivers only making .32 per mile. Thst is $960 per week at 3000 miles.MNdriver Thanks this.

I know what its like to be broke and hungry. So if I had to run 3000 miles for a $960 check, then so be it. If my bills are paid and there if food in the fridge then Im happy and any money I can stick in my pocket or the bank, then hey, thats a bonus.
I think some people that are making good money for running less miles should realize that #### happens and then you could find yourself struggling to make ends meat. So whether your driving 2400 miles or 3000, be glad you have a job and money in your pocket and hope things dont take a turn for the worse.MNdriver Thanks this.
