Has anyone every used Real Time Fright Load Board Services? I received a phone call from them today and the demo looked great. Only problem is I've never heard of them?

Man I subscribed to them and I would not recommend them unless you run a lot of freight out of the chicagland area. It was a waste of money for me. Rates are average even with so called direct shippers. Just my thoughts. I would suggest members edge before realtime.

I suscribed a few years ago, take your money and throw it out the window before using them in six months NO loads at all.

New member and one post drive by, I wonder if they're really asking a genuine question or are they just trying to get their name out here (advertising/plug). :biggrin_25524:

I tried them for a very short time. Rates were very cheap from what was supposed to be from direct shippers. I would not waste my money. Mymembersedge (DAT), Internettruckstop or Getloaded are much better.

Not even sure they have any direct freight. ITS is has taken the lead from DAT.

Thanks for the feedback. We just got our own authority and getting so many calls and mailings about services it's hard to know who's the best choice. Thanks again.

If you are a member of OOIDA, you can subscribe to www.mymembersedge.com for a discount. I would not go overboard when it comes to subscribing to loadboards. At one time I subscribed to mymembersedge, internettruckstop and getloaded. I kept mymembersedge but let the other two go. I don't really need them, but starting out you will need to get some exposure and will want to be able to find loads. Some of the major brokers have their own loadboards that are free once you set up with them.

When you subscribe you can see what loads are available and post your truck so that brokers and shippers can find you. I would suggest that you ask anyone who calls where they heard of you or saw your truck posted. It may assist you in cutting one or more of your loadboards out of the budget. You will find that most loadboards have the same loads, although some will have loads that another may not have listed. Another thing that I found was that loadboards can have somewhat different types of listings in different regions of the country. You may find more LTL on one loadboard and not another.

The one word that comes to mind with real time freight is starve!

You will find that there are many people who are more than willing to take your money in this business. Some services you may want or need, but most you don't. The more you can do yourself, the more money you will stick in your pocket. There is nothing that those services offer that you can't do for yourself. Some charge hundreds of dollars. It is important to do what you can and save as much as possible starting out. There are some people who find it overwhelming with all the offers and filing requirements. Things settle down with time. It seems much worse than it really is.
