It is a long time with someone you don't know. I got lucky and my trainer and I clicked pretty well and we still talk often. Did you opt to pair with someone who smoked? I know they asked all of us if we smoked or not so they could pair us with someone who was the same in that regard.

My friend I team with smokes and I don't. He's good about it though and it's actually hardly noticeable. Sometimes it gets to me though. A day or two here and there and you wake up feeling it in your nose and throat. If it was somebody else I wouldn't team with a smoker.

I highly doubt you'll be out a full 90 days having driven before.

Wow, that's pretty brutal, being paired with a smoker when you don't smoke. But getting a bit grouchy is normal, IMHO, you're living in very cramped quarters. I got along very well with my trainer back when I started with Burlington in '96 but there were days when I really didn't want to see his face. :biggrin_2559:

Just keep your eye on the prize, the time will pass before you know it. ;)

well i just came back from a 2 mile run so i'm feeling better, ken did ask us if we smoked or not, or if totally necessary is it ok if we would tolerate a smoker, we all said we would, the other student has a smoker as well but hi smokes electronic ciggs.

my trainer does open the window and he doesnt smoke in the sleeper. i do still consider myself fortunate, he is very patient, does teach me a lot, by no means a horror story.

Good to hear your trainer is decent. Been running you pretty well the last week?

We finally got back on to our dedicated this week after some home time and having to go to SLC to get the registration since they wouldn't mail it to us. It's a rare day we ever see the terminal anymore. Just found out we had the most miles in the company last month.

It's nice when people remember who you are. I wasn't in SLC for 5 months and they still remembered me. Were you picking potatoes up in ID?
