I did some research on CLEAR. Read a few good reviews (mainly from ex-ATT customers) and a lot of bad (mostly customer service issues)
4G coverage is spotty. I did a Live-Chat online, and they said CLEAR is 4G only. There is no 3G. That makes for a pretty small coverage map. As far as trucking goes, CLEAR is a no-go.
If your in CLEAR's service range, give it a shot! I read that they have a 15 day trial. I also read their customer service is awful, and canceling your service is a nightmare. Those are just reviews though. Things could have changed. -
Clear is ok if you are in the coverage area, speeds are great if you are on a tower that is not congested. And I will second the pain in the butt to cancel, after I cancelled my service, I get an automated call every single day, sometimes 2 times a day with an exciting offer to restart my service...... I have even blocked the phone number they call from and their system will just use another number!!!

I just found the coverage map, it is pretty weak.

To add to my post, the representative also said they were only sticking to cities. Unlike Verizon who is spreading their coverage much farther. Supposedly Verizon will eventually upgrade all 3g to 4g.
But in all honesty, we dont really need 4G. I was in Buffalo, NY this morning. I tried 4G and 3G. For loading web pages, or small video, 3G does just fine. Loading web pages actually took the same amount of time for me. I guess because it takes more time to display the page than download it. Sure the 4G downloaded a 200MB file in 3-4 mins, but how often do you need to download something that big that cant wait overnight?
And the times i do have very slow speed... Its not slow 3G. I think its because im surrounded by aluminum trailers, blocking my signal. I usually have no problem with connection parked at the back of a parking lot with no one around me. But if i park up front, with trailers all around me, it gets pretty slow. -
I had the experience with them for 20 days, after being without service for 15 of those days cross the country I turn it back in with the guarantee. You eat the modem cost and the startup charges, if you are out of the 4G network, which is most of my time using it they charge your debit or credit card for roaming fees.
My personal experience is to get a smart phone and stay away.lonewolf4ad and skellr Thank this. -
I think 4g is spotty everywhere all providers.
My friend had 3g and it worked good in bham al went 4g and it wouldn't work.
went back to 3g. I'll just keep my 3g att for awhile longer it took them years to get it where it was better than 2g. -
4g is also alot more unstable. I've seen areas where even though I had good 4g coverage it dropped alot. Normally if you have 4g you have 3g that is in excess of 1meg speed.

My laptop came with a wimax trial. The coverage was really lame.

I had forgotten to mention something, the only way that you find out 99% of the contract on this is after you sign up and log onto the website.
The forums for Clear are jammed with hate from people that have been given misleading advertising on the service and cost, this is people by the thousands complaining and the only way they can post is having the Clear account.
BBB site is pretty good to check for all the complaints filed against Clear, they have a BBB rating F.
