I have the Rand McNally TND 510.

    It has a 5" screen.

I cannot say it is the best, as this is the only one I have ever bought.

It works for me, is all I can say.

I have the Rand Mcnally TND 710 GPS and it has never steered me wrong. Just make sure you upgrade the GPS because it was made in 2011 and there has been a lot of construction since. Always remember that a GPS is this a tool, use common sense. I had to buy a 32GB memory card because I have so many addresses saved. That way I'll never have to buy another card.

Plenty of threads in the Electronic forum. Type GPS in the forum search and you'll find a bunch of threads. ;)

That's also how I still do it. If I need to trip plan for a long trip, I use Streets and Trips 2004 on my laptop. Otherwise, it's done the old fashioned way.

While shopping for a GPS (decided against getting one) I had to laugh as I read numerous reviews from truckers in an absolute panic since they're GPS went down and had no idea how they would make pick ups and deliveries. :biggrin_2556:

    The Bird & Numb,

I still use the methods you both speak of first. I have just found out that having a GPS just adds a little method of comfort. The reason I need to know now is I no longer own one of my own.

I agree. I still like using the GPS on my smart phone for tough ones but I use it for the map, not the directions. It just gives me a visualization of the directions I got on the phone from the Con/Shpr.
