Awesome, I'm loving the money but at the same time its a lot of stress to make sure I don't damage anything.
-
Yeah I bet. So, you have to pay for any damages, scratches etc? Where do you run to?
-
Hi guys, first post. Nice forum here and a wealth of information. I was out in Red Deer the end of February applying in person at Tri-Can, Cal-Frac, Baker Hughes, and a few others with no luck. I have H2S and First Aid, but only a class 5 though. Are things starting to pick up now? I really like the idea of living in Alberta (would love to be closer to the Rockies).

Breakup is still slowing things down. Think another month
-
Oh okay. I noticed a few of the drilling contractors have been posting some jobs, figured things must be starting to pick up overall. Thanks.
-
Ya we are hiring to get people trained and ready to go. I work with the rigs not on the rigs though.
-
No, I don't pay for the damages but we do get in trouble. So far I've just been to calgary and cranbrook. Monday I'm going to kelowna and penticton.

Flem the big holdup is your class 5. Once they don't have enough guys with class 1's knocking on the door they will start looking at guys like you. The other thing is they like to hold off til the ice is gone before breaking in green drivers. Especially watermelon heads J/K good luck an welcome to Alberta. btw have you tried applying to those same outfits in Weyburn or Estevan that area is pretty busy and they prob need drivers as bad or worse.e

And its easier to learn the basic driving skills on Flatland and then move to the mountains
