My boss has four trucks leased and we pull frac sand. When I say this, please please listen, I drive one of the trucks. So I am talking from experience. We are based in Texas and I have had one, count them, ONE, week that billed $7000 this year. ONE folks. Most of my weeks are running $4000 or less. My boss is trying to move us from our current place to another because he is losing money. I have actually had three weeks this year because there was no loads to pull. Its great to think you get all of the down time, but it does not happen as often as you think. I used to make $1500 to as high as $2000 a week last year, that is not the case since about November of last year. If I make a $1000 I am thrilled. So before you go and count on $50,000/month revenue, contact a few of the o/o's out there and you will find, that money is not there. My boss is considering selling two of his units because they are just not profitable any longer, so think hard before you get caught up in this.

This is the reason I am trying to get info about the frac work in PA. OH. NY. area. I have friends pulling sand and they are still doing better than they when they were pulling plastic. I know 1 company that turned 1 of its termials into a frac sand yard in Laredo Beau

If you manage to find any info please let me know. My boss is also searching for info, I really don't want to go looking for a new job and I don't mind living for months on end in the truck even if it is in PA. Money is money, I am sure my wife would agree LOL

Could you please post the name of the company your friend works for in PA. Some of us are more than willing to follow the money.

I am an owner of a good size fleet of pneumatics. We have been hauling frac sand in south TX. since 2008. The rates and work load was great in 2010 and most of 2011. Since about november 2011 the work load has dropped off significantly. We have seen rates cut in half. We were hauling for $7 a mile and charging $65 per hour demurrage up until the past few months. SNI now came in and cut a deal with the same service company at $2.75 a mile. They have approximately 25 day cabs with pneumatics at a yard just south of San Antonio. I have also seen quite a few SNI crude haulers recently on the road. We also provide on-site sand coordination and it was a joke when SNI showed up on the job. Took them 4-5 hrs to unload. Not a single truck showed up on location on time because they were out of hrs and had to swap drivers. They have several vans at their yard that they take drivers to the truck with. All our customer can tell us is we know you provide the best service but we can get it done for less than half of what you charge. XXXXXXXXXXXXX>>>>>>>>>>xxxxxxxx
