Forgot to mention this, rather than a soda and a bag of potato chips.
Peanut butter and crackers with milk
Slide into a grocery store and find a bag of mixed fresh veggies like what you would find on a party tray, some cheese and not eat a big Mac.
I am the last person to point fingers at eating healthy, but hey I am trying.

If you want to eat healthy on the road, it helps to take food with you and eat at least some of your meals in the truck. Stay away from the buffet. It is mostly carbs. I often eat an omelet for breakfast when on the road. I have them substitute fruit for the hash browns or potatoes. It may help you to do some research on the types of foods you need to eat to have a balanced diet. Just staying away from most of the carbs can help balance your weight as long as you don't over eat and also stay away from the deserts. In reality, you can eat pretty much anything you want as long as you watch your portions and have a balanced diet.

Don't drink anything with calories. So yes, drink water. Doing that alone will cut thousands of calories a week from most peoples diets.
And stay away from diet soda. Been proven to be almost as bad as regular soda as far as weight gain. -
That is one of the reasons I switched to a dedicated route. Or one of the benefits...
It is only a 50 mile run one direction. In a 3 run day I climb up or down those steps 45-50 times. I crank the landing gear twice every stop and those are not always smooth easy cranking.
Plus I am home every night so I have been getting back on the treadmill.

If you want to stay healthy driving, plan your meals for four days.
Breakfast - cottage cheese and FRESH fruit. Canned fruit is full of corn syrup (unless you buy it in water.) grapes, fresh pineapple, canteloupe and honey dew.
Morning snack - granny smith apple, OR almonds/cashews. Celery and almond butter. Any fresh berry (blue, black, straw, or rasp) and unsweetened real whipped cream - not cool whip).
Lunch - grilled chicken/baked chicken on fresh lettuce with veggies. Low sodium light coating of dressing. Canned tuna is okay, watch your sodium.
Snack - raw almonds (10 will fill you up).
Dinner - hamburger steak and green vegetables (no peas or beans).
Things to avoid:
Canned fruit
Peanuts and Peanut Butter (they are full of mold and poison your digestive system). This was hard for me as I Love peanut butter.
Breads (at least for the first three weeks. After that limit yourself to ONE serving of sourdough bread or a SINGLE flour tortilla a day.)
Sugars, fake sugars (with exception of Stevia)
Legumes (for first three weeks)
Any apples besides granny smith (too much sugar)
Potatoes (lethal to your endocrine system)
Rice (1st 3 weeks. After that limit brown rice sparingly)
Avoid sodium - which means avoid most processed foods
Any food with more than 11 ingredients.
Yeast inclusive foods
Foods with mono sodium glutamate (MSG)
Sodas (with exception of soda with stevia in it) blue sky free and zevia are two you can have.
Fake butter and hydrogenated oils
Cheese - its processed, it's FULL of sodium and fat.
DO drink plenty of water. Unsweetened black tea is okay as is black coffee. Avoid fruit juice
After six weeks, you can eat pasta 3 times a week. Try whole wheat instead of enriched. Avoid anything that says enriched.
GLUTEN FREE IS KEY! Your body can't digest gluten and all of your processed foods and breads have it.
Follow this plan and do some light exercise and I GAURANTEE YOU you will lose plenty of weight and you won't go hungry. I did it and lost 40 lbs and have kept it of for two years by sticking to the Kaufmann Dietary Lifestyle. Good luck! PM me if you have any questions.Female Driver, -MadMax- and flightwatch Thank this. -
Peanut Butter and Potatoes are poison and lethal? A little dramatic don't you think?
I'm a fitness "freak" you could say, and most foods are fine in moderation, including peanut butter and a potato now and then, lol. Eating them every day is over doing it, yes. -
You can eat ANYTHING you want, in moderate amounts, and you can be healthy.
I run laps around the truck stop most of the time before I shower. I also have power bands. -
