Con Way LTL agility test

not sure wut that is, but we have a physical at my terminal held by the wellness coach.

i no u have to step up and down on these steps for a certain amount of time, then will hold buckets and do it. They also have u walk into a trailer and out and pull aroumd a heavy skid. they also have u pull a converter dolley a certain amount of feet the bring it back which is the hardest part

 

Well on the Truckload side, may I mention that the two are totally two separate intities(sp) the only thing is that the same logo is used by both, but you will notice the "Freight" and "Truckload" is below the Con-Way so back to the subject at hand. Truckload has a physical in Lancaster if you want to call it that, we were told to fill out a form put all meds and medical issues on it, the nurse checks our vision and we pee in a cup, then the doc, calls us in asks us a few questions takes our BP listens to our heart and lungs and has us lift our legs out straight out thrn while bent he taps the knees to check reflexes, hang with it gets tougher from here on oyt, then he has us stand up and bend as far over forward as possible, then he stand by the door and whispers "13" then asks you to repeat it, then he goes to the other side of the room and whispers "27" and hands us the paperwork and away we go!! Not to tough, he didn't even ask me about my funny stance where I lean forward a bit or nothing... I hope this helps. TD24

 

#### u truckload guys had it easy, we had a physical like that to get our med cards, but we also have a company physical at freight

 

I was wondering what in the name of God was happening at the back doors of my terminal.. Now I know.. From what I saw, it actually kinda sorta makes some sense in a way..

You're a little South of where I'm at man. I'm up in the Philly region. I might catch you in 2012 though when I'm back on line-haul running Richmond, Va.

The Arlington/Alexandria area of Northern Va has been my second home for years though so I can help you find the Lowe's up there if you go up that far.

Did I miss something? We got the video yesterday, and they certainly seem to be ramping up safety which I am all for and very glad to see. We also have the wellness coach come in every week, but no one has mentioned an agility test. Does everyone have to take this?

 

I think this covers the excercises in the agility test. It was in an article I found on the Internet when I was researching Con-Way. When I took the test, it was administered by a third party. They check your heartrate inbetween exercises and during rest periods. It is pretty accomodating, but I'm not a doctor. Good luck!!!
