I recently graduated cdl school and have been doing research into who I want to go to work for. I have read many good things about US Xpress and would like to go to work for them.
I am a big boy and my only worry is getting sent home over this bmi/neck size thing I've been reading about.
Is this a common thing with all trucking companies? Is US Xpress testing for it in Tunnel Hill?
I'm pretty healthy and have shed 30 lbs. in the last three months but still have a ways to go before i scale out well with bmi. I sleep well and don't think I have sleep apnea, but I can't afford a sleep test after being unemployed for a while.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I just got through orientation. No problems with BMI or sleep apnea with anyone from our class. Doc seemed to just care that our BP wasnt sky high and that we could see reasonably straight.
Just have all your paperwork in order. they want doctors notes for the last 5 years for anything noteworthy and some of them dont like signing a work releace if they havent seen you in a while. So get cracking on those asap. This is something that a couple people got kicked out of orientation for. -
Stay away from CRST. They do the sleep apnea thing based on neck size. It gets expensive.
-
Just cause us express accepted my app and are now setting orientation up does this mean I won't be sent home when I get there???
-
You can be sent home for a number of reasons. Fail your physical/drug screen. Fail your road test, lied on your application, didn't disclose accidents or tickets...etc
-
What does a physical consist of? I didn't lie on my app or have any criminal background or tickets

well see....
Youz goez into dis room.
den dis guy comz in and hez got this big ol syringe with a needle about da size of a pen. He sticks it into yer neck till he getz da blood he needs.

The doc will listen to your heart and breathing, ask your history, nurse will take your blood pressure and vital. You'll have to do a lab test to check your sugar levels and other things.

soo about the application. I had a couple odd end jobs for only a couple days maybe a week or so and I was told it wasent worth mentioning so I named my biggest jobs and my volunteer work which was like 3 maybe 4 total jobs. But not mentioning those dinky jobs get me kicked out or no? I didn't think it would but

Past employment is a BIG deal these days. Tell them the complete whole truth and gather as much documentation as you can.
