Is the Volvo semi truck a spinoff of the Ford Aeromax. I thought Ford Motor company owned Volvo at one time. If you owned a Ford Aeromax, how did you like it?

nope, white trucks merged/created/got bought? volvo, no relation to ford in the heavy truck world. never had a aeromax, but had a sterling right after freightliner bought out ford and called it sterling. the sterling I had was a plastic piece of junk, had airliner suspension under it and rode decent but that was about it as far as good.

Thanks, That answers my question. I wondered what happened to Ford's class 8 division. I didn't realize Freightliner bought them out.

i've never owned a aeromax, but i have put a few thosand miles on one. Very smooth rideing truck, i wouldnt want to live in it though lol.

I drive a sterling day cab now (sterling is what Ford Trucks turned into) and it rides smooth but still if it had a sleeper i wouldnt want to live in it lol.

I always thought the Aeromax design looked pretty good. With Ford's quality looking better these days. It makes you wonder why they don't jump back in the class 8 market.

i don't think they feel a need. too many competitors with great experience in that arena. besides USA, Ford is doing great in europe as well. :-D

In the last month, I've put some miles on a 2012 Exploder and a 2013 Taurus. I would buy neither!!! In contrast, I helped my mother in law buy a 2012 Honda CRV EX. Design and quality is night and day. Ford's Sync system is crap.

As for Ford class 8 trucks, nobody was buying them in the first place, and still didn't when they changed the name to Sterling.

Ford sure makes it's commercials sound convincing about Quality. Maybe the only thing they having going for them is the F-150.
