I have a question for you drivers. The instructor said today that central DOES route trucks through deals gap (US129 at TN NC boarder). How often do you guys find yourselves there? More importantly how do you make it through, and can you get your dm to reroute for safety to anywhere else?

Passion, you are going to drive every road out there that isn't restricted! Maybe even some of those too! I have driven down dirt roads in the mountains when we drove for Central! You will be fine. Long as there aren't avalanche's!

I'm not worried about weather or dirt roads or a challenge. Just the dead people on my grill.

Nevermind. I guess enough people have died there now, so late last year they restricted trailers to 30', thru or local. I feel so much better. I really don't want a vehicular homicide on my conscience.

The main route from tenn into nc is i 40 it can be a white knuckle experance at first but once you do it a couple times its a piece of cake. Also they run i26 south into nc its like a big roller coaster up hill down hill you will oo fine. The hills on the west coast and in the rockys well thats a different story.

I think we can all live with dead deer. If you think I'm making a big deal out of nothing google images for deals gap semi crash. You'll see bikes in the road, cars under tandems, trucks on their sides, and A LOT of semis running pave drop off to shoulder around a blind corner. Add that too heavy sportbike/sports car use and you have a deadly situation.

It's all a moot point now though, since we pull 53's and it restricted to under 30 now.
