Would you care to share what kind of take home checks you're gettingat that rate? How many hours a week are you getting? Any other financial info you can give would be a great help to all of us.

You said bring an RV. How hard is it to find a park or parking place with hookups and whats the cost of parking an RV down there. I love that area of TX. Its truly God's Country! Any info you could forward would be great.

Sorry if this is repetitious, but I'm trying to ask questions of those of you that are so willing to share. I appreciate your help,

Svoray... Sorry dude, I missed who you are working for somehwhere and don't see it in my notes. Could you share again? And any inof about them?

Lima... did you stay in FW or did you make the move to Decatur? I was thinking if I relocate back down there, Weatherford or Justin might be a better bet if i find something there in Decatur area. What's your thoughts on the housing situation and the commute?

Sorry Svoray, don't mean to be a pain in the ##### but... I currently don't have a HAZMAT on my MO CDL. I was thinking I would get back to TX, transfer my CDL down there since I already have one in Mesquite and another in Parker County, and then get my HM. I will get my tanker up here before I leave. That way I don't have to pay that $132 (up here) again for the same BS. Know what I mean. What are your thoughts on that plan. Also in reading these strings, I think, although I have 9 years expereince, it may be better for me to haul sand or water for about a year, get my HM/X, then move into crude hauling. Your thoughts?

    Again, thanx for your input.
    Bennett

One of my former drivers came from them. He says it was a good company as long as he was a company driver pulling out of Highlands, TX. He did the largercar purchase deal and without any expereince of running a company, got into a bad situation. He doesn't have anything bad to say about the company. It was his lack of experience. After working for me, he's back on track and doing great with another company using my business model. BTW, he's one of a handful of drivers that I would run team wit and sleep behind... that's how much I trust him!

If you want more details, I'll try to get them from him. They will be a few years old though.

I have had an arm's length relationship with FFE for 8 years. By that I mean that I contracted not with FFE, but with a subsidiary. I chose the subsidiary over FFE due to problems with pay in a timely manner, etc. I never had a problem with the subsidiary and in fact, when I was selling my small fleet to a driver group, they honored the sale and didn't make any changes to the contract. Granted, I owned the contract with M&M/Mars and used the subsidiary's authority. The buyout went very smoothly and FFE was thankful I didn't pull the contract.

With that said, I would be VERY leary of doing direct business with FFE.

Who did you go with and where? What kind of pay? How do you like it so far? Please splain there Lucy???

    And thanks

Could you update us on who, what, how much, etc? Also, what about living accomodations in the area?

Hey jonben, give us a little idea about what you want cause you qualify for just about anything in the patch. Do you want 100hrs a week with no real schedule or 60hrs a week with a very cosistent schedule? Do you want to live in the city ir out in the middle of nowhere? Do you need a job immediately or can you wait the three to four weeks it takes to get the better jobs? If you kinda give me a wish list I van point you in the right direction.

If I'm going to be in the patch, I want as much money as I can get which means I'll work the hours needed, where ever I may be needed. I was steering away from Mid/Odd area only because of the housing shortage and leaning more toward S TX. However, for the right opportunity, I'm there. I'm not adverse to hard work. And I'm single so the hours aren't a problem. If I'm working, I'm not spending $$$ is the way I look at it. I've been off for 6 weeks now, so I need to get something in the next few weeks. Would rather not go til the end of May before I get something. I was thinking about making a trip to TX next week.

My thoughts were to start in water or sand for about a year, then move on to crude, due to my lack of tanker experience and the time TX takes to get a Hazmat thru.

As far as city or BFE? I like them both and can find happiness in either. Its a trade off I guess. Cities have more housing/ etc, but also have higher costs. BFE has less but the pace of personal life is a lot slower and more laid back. After 9 straight years on the road with sporadic hometime, I've been a real homebody since March 16.

Hope this helps... I guess you saw the small resume I posted?

What yard are you going to be working out of? Did you have a hazmat before you got there? How long do they give you to get a hazmat if they hire you? Will they hire you without a HM anmd let you get it afterwards?

If your gonna haul water I wouldn't worry about a hazmat yet. If you want the most hours and money I would recomend a frac or cement crew. Most frac crew work 80-100 hours a week and pay 15-18 per hour. Alot of them have switched two week on and one week off schedules also.

Don't worry about it. Pampa is usually one of the cooler spots in TX in summer. Not cool. But better than E, S, W TX. This is just unusual high temp for this time of year. What is elevation there about 3000+ ? S & E are the worst for me. Too hot and terrible humidity to boot. W TX is not but usually very dry. Cools off quickly in evening.
