I'm currently in my first week of truck driving school, and scheduled for 4 weeks. I'm assigned to USA trucking and i have been reading the pro's/con's of them bad reviews etc. My question is this, im 25 years old and my last speeding ticket was feb last year 10mph over but had a few speed tickets when i was 18/19 Do they pull back that far. I been threw the screening with driving solutions and im in school now, But USA had a follow-up call verfiying all the information that was summited to them. Also does it hert me that i do not have my high school diaploma? Nor G.E.D

don't worry about your GED or HS diploma. You can always get the GED later. I got mine 3 years after high school.
If you have been open about the rest of it, don't sweat the little stuff. -
yeah i have been open about everything, i had droped out in 11th grade due to having a kid and needed a job just haven't made the time to go and get it yet was my only concern. Thanks for the quick response.

have you thought about what you are going to do with your child while you are gone?

FFE looks back 3 years and allows 3 violations and 2 preventable accidents, so I'm thinking you shouldn't have to worry. If you are going to be behind the wheel of a huge truck, then I think it's time to start driving like a grown up, don't you think? No need to endanger other people. At least make sure you are driving for a company that regulates your speed...

agreed with the growing up part on the speeding and not driving stupid anymore esp. with a 4year old and 6mth old and far as the kids, my wife is supporting me to do this, but she works a full time job as well and are familys are supporting us and helping us with the kids. Her Father has been driving trucks for 28 years and Her sisters husband has been for two years so her side of the family is supporting and helping all the can as well.

You will hear good and bad about almost every company. Unfortunately people are much faster to complain and whine than to compliment. I've heard terrible things and great things about FFE, but they have treated us decent so far. No matter where you go, you are starting at the bottom and having to prove yourself. If you consider some of the degenerates these companies see, you can understand why they are negative toward new drivers. I'm not saying that it's right, just understandable. Just keep positive, have some dignity and respect and work hard. Eventually they will see that you are a valuable asset and things will get better. As far as the GED, if you are starting a trucking career and planning to stay with it, why bother? I have a college degree and it makes me no better than you. We are both just drivers trying to feed our families and enjoying the open road.
MNdriver Thanks this.
