Why go to School you have your CDL Its spring get a Construction type driving job with companies that have both straight trucks and Semi's, Its the way I got Driving...! Good Luck!

 

Yes.Knight will hire student or those coming out of school. Just do yourself a big favor and stay away from negative posts. I chose to go with Swift, I almost went to Prime. Swift offered better home time and Prime had too long of a training period,(40,000 miles). But for you, CRST or knight would be good to get your feet wet. There's negative posts about every company out there, just do the best job you can and be thankful.

 

I guess you could continue to beat the pavement hoping you find someone to give you a break, but those jobs are far and few between and you are losing time! If you don't start driving within a few weeks, no one will hire you, in fact after 60 days most will require that you go back to school and do a refresher course.You can take your chances and wait or start working as soon as possible. As for me, i can't afford to wait. Also, Central Refrigerated will take you, they are team also, both do orientation in Salt Lake City if you're in the West

 

All I can say is good luck, I upgraded from class b to class a about a year ago, did the same thing as you. No school, just went down and took the test. Been looking for a driving job for over a year now. No one can hire me because of no recent otr experience. Insurance companies just won't let them. I had my class b for 7 years prior, worked for building supply companies, when the economy tanked I lost my job driving.
I truly wish you better luck then I have had.
Living in KS you may have better luck then I have had. FL just has no jobs especially for someone without exp.

 

i had my cdl A since 1994,did not drive since 1998, i might be goin to swift in tenn..i looked into alot of schools n read alot of reports from people ..thank u..i think its all in the attitudue each person has goin into any school will make or break u.getting the exper. behind the wheel is the main reason,go anywhere after that .good luck
