Okay day 10 is over. instead of classroom videos and textbook crap we went out over the road again. this time we went into Kentucky and Indiana and back to Ohio. For some reason when i drive we always hit road construction and then some idiot tries to meet my front bumper. I woke everyone up by hitting the brakes to avoid some idiot in an astro van that wanted to be in the same lane as me. It was pretty smooth on my drive since it was mostly highway. I did 97 miles today. My trip stopped in Memphis Indiana at a truck stop. I think it was loves but i am not sure. We had a couple dumb moves like Brian running a stop sign and Jeff almost shifting on some tracks again we call that a Jeffery. Had Dave stall it out in front of Trenton terminal this morning too. It was good times and we laughed so much today. Get to do it all again on Monday. I cant wait. Only one week left.

Keep it coming and good luck Samurai. Millis is, I think, the front runner of the companies that I am considering and I think that I'll try and go to the school in Ohio. Any and all info will be great. :biggrin_255: Thanks!!!

took some more pictures. not too many this week since we were out driving but i got to see Bill's huge #### in the last picture. Took a shot of the new training truck that we arent driving. Also got a shot of a bait shop. not sure what kind of bait they use there but i would not like to see the fish it catches.

Thank you for the welcome Samurai, my family and I took a trip to Virginia this weekend to see our daughter in tech school for the Air force, I ran across alot of Millis trucks in that area, found myself thinking it will only be a few short months and I'll be behind that wheel !!! My only concern is those mountains !! are they teaching you how to run those big hills and down those long sloped roads, like when to down shift and what gear to be in ?

Yes, they will teach you the methods in school, and then when your with your trainer is when your really learn how to do it hands on. Its really not that bad, I find most long steep grades i can go down in 9th and feel comfortable. There are a few like Mounte Eagle, Sandstone, or even Fancy Gap where you just need to be on the safe side because its a pretty long downgrade

The engine/jake brake does wonders in keeping your truck speed under control, There are also signs recomending what a safe speed will be.

Day 11 done. Once again we were out driving. Had to be back at 9 so Butch's student could test out. I found out today that I will be his next student. He seems like a great guy. I am stoked. I drove good again today through more construction. Had a peterbuilt try to get into my lane when he was getting on the highway from the ramp. I was calm and just looked at him like he was a #######. Tomorrow is more of the same and I think we are taking a trip to buffalo later this week so that should be fun. I will keep you updated. Stay safe

Day 12 gone. Waited until last to drive today. Got to drive in a bit of everything including some other side of the road action when I had to go around an accident. Once again I had a dumb driver try to go around me on an on ramp and I couldnt get over for his 4 wheel ###. Almost took him under the trailer. Why are people so.stupid?
