Cat Acert engines requires a full flow oil filter. What would it do to the engine if it was run for a long period of time with the wrong oil filter?

I did not know they offered a filter that was not "full flow". We always have used Baldwin filters and never had an issue..
I'm curious as too see what everyone else has for info on this. -
Mine ran with the wrong number cat filter for several years, still made over a million miles before overhaul. The filter number you want to run on an accert is 1R-1808.

I have learned that they require a "high efficiency" filter. 25 microns or less. If not, you will plug up your valve actuators...
I had that issue on one of my trucks just after I bought it with 600K on it... -

If your in a pinch it shouldn't matter but over a long time it could mess with the VVA actuators ....
